How are you able to upgrade without increasing the price of the plan? I use to be able to upgrade yearly...

Been buying my phones outright for the past couple years. At $50/mth with 6gb there is nothing to switch to The days of retention plans are long gone. They won't let you upgrade? They will but I need to bump my price plan up by $20 for less gb. Yeah that makes sense lol. In reality buying the phone outright vs. Paying more into the plan over 2 years is about the same. But fuck giving Rogers more money.
I think a co-worker did the calculations of buying a phone vs signing on for 2 years (to get the phone at a discounted price), it was cheaper to purchase a phone and get a cheaper month/month contract from one of the discount providers.

My old plan was annually as well but I was no longer an employee so I couldn't get more hw upgrades. ( I knew someone in Bell who hooked me up with a plan from a hospital) My current plan is with my GF's work (one of the big 4 Accounting firms).
I carry a work phone as well. Don't pay anything for that but I don't use it aside from when I am out for work. In theory, I could just use that as no one calls me but I don't have a home phone so I need some sort of consistant number.

How do I get a better plan?
My retentions plan didn't get renewed so I'm stuck with the share plan paying retail $100 for 5 gigs. Retentions doesn't give a shit when I try to cancel. I cancelled my TV&Internet because they didn't offer the gigabit/TV for $100 so I have 2 weeks to switch to something.
Vas - how is Bell in Markham? Rogers is crap, 1 bar at home and 1 bar at the inlaws.

That's still a $240 saving VS $500 off the phone.
Why do you need 6Gb bandwidth from your phone? You should pay more and get 1Gb because 6Gb is clearly too much for everyone. Explain why. /Risky
I hit 10gigs last month. People do use their phones that much.

I would be totally fine with 2 bars, works fine, dropping to 1 is when the convo starts getting choppy
