dont get it. cell unlocking is free in most cases--call your provider XD i feel like the general public doesn't know this. Many of the unlocking services just end up calling the provider for you and charge you a small fee.
Just call them up, tell them you need it unlocked for biz travel as you're always on the road...and they'll do it up. A law passed some time ago that required them to unlock when requested.

So you are trying to determine provider popularity based on unlocking cost?

Who are you with currently? There are that many Rogers/iphone people? A lot of Rogers/Fido iphone unlocking services are available on Ebay for less than $10 CDN, where Telus, Bell cost $70+ or does it mean most people don't want Rogers and need to unlock it for other providers?
Rogers/iphone 5S
$10 cdn? where? Bell/Telus are 50+ and up.

All my work phones have been with bell or Telus. I think rogers/fido are the most popular among the retail crowd...

My plan is $40 for unlimited talk/text Canada/US and 500mb data. If I go over the data limit I get charged a flat fee of $10 and I get an extra 10gigs (IIRC). So $50/month unlimited.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/black-market-cellphone-deals-1.3607245 Black market cell phone deals brah. I'd give it a shot, but Im more than happy w/ my 6gb data plan 63.17 a month.
It's not even that cheap.
Having been in the industry, it's pretty easy to do.
However, you'd be giving up a ton of personal information to some joe blow for an "intangible" item (plan switch).

They won't let you upgrade?

You dont need to use a third party to get those plans. You can do it yourself

They will but I need to bump my price plan up by $20 for less gb. Yeah that makes sense lol. In reality buying the phone outright vs. Paying more into the plan over 2 years is about the same. But fuck giving Rogers more money.
