Bang for the buck they are the best cars out there, for me it's living with the fit and finish of the car, can't do it. Is350 would've been a much better buy.

I wanted an IS but inventory is scarce and I paid about $5000 less for this than what people were wanting for IS's. I tried. I really like the G too, not sure if you guys have driven them.

Jeff, I hope so too. Need to also remember I daily an M3, this is my beater.

The IS250/350 drives like shit for its class, same shit as the c-class of that gen. NOT GOOD. G37 and TL of the same gen. are great handling cars. Good choice IMO, however it's probably just as thristy as the M3 lol

You have no idea what you are talking about, for starters lumping in the IS250 and IS350 as if it's the same car and then telling me the IS350 is a worse car in relation to a G37, lol ok man. If you are talking strictly driving the G37 does feel a bit sportier, I agree the IS350 can feel a but underwhelming in relation, but we are splitting hairs here, both are fat automatic pigs. I like the more refined IS350 feel to be honest.

The IS350 is better than a G37 in every imaginable way except price...which you get back when you sell as they have better resale anyway. Damn Lexus hater, holy crap.

I always laugh at this logic.

Spend 25k after tax on a winter beater to preserve a 45k car. (omg my car is an investment/asset, wow warren such buffet )

wow maths, making sense.

If you can't afford to put mileage on a half a decade old m3 then you shouldn't buy it. /rant

I'll reply more from a real computer later. The M3 doesnt feel special after driving it in traffic all the time so an auto sedan has a place in my life then when I go use the M3 it'll be Clean and feel nice. Fuelly and fueleconomy.gov says I'll get a 20-25% increase in economy. Also I'm not sure I ever said that was an issue. I have made comments but not sure I ever said it was breaking me.

Perfectly reasonable, I don't like driving my m3 in regular conditions at all, it's a fucking drag to be honest. Would much rather chill in a luxury automatic pig \:D

If I am buying a new DD to preserve my MM3, it will be a car runs on regular gas, average under 9L/100 km, automatic. No way I am buying a DD that requires premium gas

TL is like $250, M3 is basically scrap metal.

I always warm up the car. Even if I make a short trip (say 3km away), I drive around for 15 minutes prior + let it idle at cold start for around 30 sec before finishing my trip. At the very minimum, I want oil to get to operating temp.

So to answer your question, yes XD That pic is after a half hour of driving in 10 degree weather. The car is just baad in the city. That # is like all time fuel consumption doe. With track in there

Nothing at all, and I never complained about economy either. I love daily driving it but traffic sucks so I'll admit an auto is nice from time to time. Also I take road trips so 2000-3000kms in the M3 for a weekend just doesn't make sense. Further, GF won't drive the M3 so unless we take her car (which doesn't have cruise FWIW) I'm doing all the driving. Also I like the M3, A LOT, and I've put 13000kms on it in 6 months, 2.5 of which I've been out of the country. I'd rather it not have 200k on it before I know it. Further, rod bearings are getting done in March, I want to do them myself and just don't have the time or resources now. Besides, I can, so why not.

No pics available as of yet. To be honest I can see the deal falling through. I'll post about that once I know for sure.

Disclaimer - results and opinions may not be typical, these are based off the samples I had access to within my budget.

<=08 TL's - nice car, would have to do timing belts on all that I had seen, drove type-s and non, liked them both but the drive was a little harsh for what I wanted. Kept in back of my mind it's a FWD.

>=09 TL's - really nice car, but, tooooo big. Turn around and look at back seat passengers it was like I was in a town car. Also, hard to get with all the packages I wanted in my price.

TSX's - I liked this, but, it's very entry level luxury car, which is fine. Resale is quite high on these.

is350's - most were BEATTTTTTT. The paint must be as thin as a piece of paper. interiors seemed to hold up alright though. I liked the drive however I'd drive two back to back and seats would feel different. Road noise too but that was the tires. I tried to buy one of these but we were too far apart.

G37(x)'s - had that substantial luxurious feel. Lots of amenities. Only offering here (I believe) with intelligent cruise. Easy to find with decent features. Paint isn't awesome on these either but compared to the IS's it was awesome. AWD is nice. The one I bought comes with winter and summers.

e class' - nice to drive but I'm just not old enough for this. I drove an 08 E300 to buy the G37x actually.

5 series' - too big, and honestly compared to the M3 the materials in other BMW's in my price range were not the premium packages so I didn't want a car that's so similar but offering an inferior experience.

c class' - felt small, cramped, econo box ish, expensive, vinyl? Really?

<09 A4's - See c class but inexpensive.

One thing I did notice is that as cars were aging people were skimping out on matching tires, rotors with pads (>2 sets of pads / rotor with huge lips), cheap noisy tires, etc.

I've got Sailun's on the F150 and they've been ok but it's a beater truck and it came with them. The Sailun's that came on the E300 are pretty good but they're brand new.

waiiiiiiiit.
first, your 5500lb beast is diesel XD
Second, my 18.8l/100 is all time. So that includes lapping days. My real mpg is around 13l/100 per tank. 13 to 14. I drive mainly city doe, and I beat on it after all temps are nominal \:D

87zcsi, u found 5 series to be inferior in experience to m3 even in the interior? which gen 5 did u test? The 5s seem quite nice in the interior imo. the leather is better, and the trim/switch gear in general are nicer.

......or maybe it's bc i am comparing m5 to m3. m5 is nicer inside fo sho (e60 m5 vs e90 m3)
