A man is dead after he was shot at a busy complex of bars and restaurants in Richmond Hill on Sunday night.

Police say that at about 7:30 p.m. shots were fired into a BMW outside the Keg restaurant located at Beaver Creek Road and Highway 7.

The victim was inside his car when he was shot. He tried to drive off, but crashed his car about 30 metres away.

The male driver was rushed to hospital but did not survive.

Police say the entertainment complex was busy at the time of the shooting, which left a man dead. (Tony Smyth/CBC)
York Regional Police's homicide department has taken over the investigation.

The entertainment complex was very busy at the time of the shooting and police are looking for witnesses. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-TIPS.

Place was a sh!tshow, no one was allowed to leave until very late, cray to pull out a burner and execute someone like that in front of so many people.

yeah was surprised given over the years that complex of places has been very good/safe over the years. the last 'major' thing was i think from that rocky mountain bar that used to be there awhile back, but it wasn't as bad as this. eih, wrong place/wrong time for the victim, dude was obviously being targeted.

^ LOL

My HK gf I dated in university (I was first year, she was last year HS, drove a 7 series).

So not surprised to find out recently she moved back to Hong Kong and married a Chinese guy. Her family wasn't too happy with me, being a whitey.

I think it was a mixture of both. Although my family's hardly poor, they're not on that level. Melissa's family owns Sunbeam (like toasters, irons, etc.)

Also, I know it realllly ticked off her dad that she was dating a whitey \:\)
