A little background.
I've been practicing/training a specific Kung Fu all my life, once a week, at a closed door location (consistently) and i also venture out to commercial gyms.
When i was working abroad and being an entrepreneur, i'd walk into gyms in china and respectfully do "challenge" matches. If i'd lose badly, i would train at that gym. If i won most of my battles at that gym, i would never go back.
Fast forward to 6 weeks ago. A buddy finally conned me to trail Brazilian jiu jitsu. I must say. This martial art is LEGIT. I knew it was legit, i know it was dangerous and a deadly art.
I always thought to myself if i ever got into a triangle or choke or armbar i'd bite the shit out of the guy.
After 6 weeks of doing this (i joined the gym for a year, something i never do), i can honestly say that when you get caught in a triangle, your brain does not recognize you are caught and by the time you know it, you're out. Armbars, chokes, they are all performed quicker than someone can bite.
for that 1.5hr, it is the work out of my life.
Anyone else try this?
People say this a lot, you can be the master sifu chief grandmaster 100degree black belt in a stand up art, but on the ground it is totally different. I, for one thought i would have an advantage. Nope. White belts even with 2 months experience can tap me out.
