Ontario just passed a law making it illegal for bosses to bug their employees after-hours.
It forces employers to have a written policy about post workday requirements. Not illegal, just stipulates a policy in place
"Require employers with 25 or more employees to have a written policy about employees disconnecting from their job at the end of the workday to help employees spend more time with their families."
Worked crazy hours in my previous job. Was not worth the stress to my body and mind. Also missing out on holidays and weekends during month/qtr end. Much happier in the new role with regular hours and logging out at 5pm.

The ruling is only to create a policy which can say whatever they want:
Quote:
Require employers with 25 or more employees to have a written policy about employees disconnecting from their job at the end of the workday to help employees spend more time with their families.
