https://www.blogto.com/tech/2021/12/right-to-disconnect-ontario/ https://news.ontario.ca/en/statement/1001242/ontario-passes-the-working-for-workers-act Quote: Ontario just passed a law making it illegal for bosses to bug their employees after-hours. The provincial government passed the Working for Workers Act, 2021, which was first proposed in October. |

This is inaccurate. Quote: Ontario just passed a law making it illegal for bosses to bug their employees after-hours. It forces employers to have a written policy about post workday requirements. Not illegal, just stipulates a policy in place "Require employers with 25 or more employees to have a written policy about employees disconnecting from their job at the end of the workday to help employees spend more time with their families." |

Nice in theory, but the reality is, whoever wants to get ahead will put in the extra time (off hours) and it'll just be business as usual. |

Who will enforce it? Your boss? lol don't kid yourself. |

Worked crazy hours in my previous job. Was not worth the stress to my body and mind. Also missing out on holidays and weekends during month/qtr end. Much happier in the new role with regular hours and logging out at 5pm. |

Show your bosses, but who will truly enforce it? |

The ruling is only to create a policy which can say whatever they want: Quote: Require employers with 25 or more employees to have a written policy about employees disconnecting from their job at the end of the workday to help employees spend more time with their families. |
