Lol, did honda kick you in the nuts and steal your lunch money or some shit? Get past the badge bs and realise that Honda/Acura is still amazing value for the money. I'll admit they fell off for a bit when it comes to design but remember, their quality and reliability are still the same. Fit and finish are very comparable and in some cases even better; they just don't rape you on the price. See: 56k for entry level BMW 320i that is worse in every way even compared to an ilx. What does the BMW offer over it for all that extra money? A bit more hp? Who gives a crap, for a fun car ya but for a daily a Volkswagen rabbit has enough power for the DVP parking lot. Don't even bother talking about reliability, Honda today is not the same as the Honda's 10+ years ago. It's quite obvious Acura needs to be valued positioned since they offer ZERO for looks, how else are they going to get people to buy their heaps. Look at the steep discounts that Acura has to offer just to get rid their cars. I honestly don't care about badge so give me a break, I fucking DD a 1998 Civic so do you really think I care about fucking image? Listen you like the brand and that's great, but Acura/Honda has fucking dropped the ball HUGE for over a decade now. Christ the new Corolla looks much better compared to the Civic.
Lol dude nothing is the same as 10 years ago, look at Kia and Hyundai, are they the same? No, but Honda has still been dead nuts reliable. You need your eyes checked if you think they offer 0 for looks; your high if you think Chevy sedans look better, or Nissan, he'll even the 2014 3 series is questionable. acura has a few years that they fucked up the styling (the gen TL after riskys) but they corrected that, the ilx looks good, the RL looks sick, the mdx looks good, the Rdx looks decent (it's no Nissan juke) and the tlx looks wicked. Btw theres plenty of good looking cars these days, the ford fiesta, the kia optima, the Hyundai genesis , You just hatin lol
such ugly
I also saw a white ILX the other day, with the 5 spoke vossens and oem kit. car looked really good.

The m37 from what I hear drives like junk vs its competition I read the opposite, beat the Benz, bmw, and Audi in magazine comparo tests As for towing, I'll give it up, I spend 2.5 hours a day in my car sometimes more, I just want quiet comfy.
That's how I feel. The M3 is quiet and comfy but I'm putting A LOT of kms on it. Honestly I thought the modern Jeep you have would have been quiet and comfy? Not luxury barge comfy but pretty good anyways. I was tossing around the idea of a diesel jeep.

I would ignore zc911's reasoning, it usually makes no sense. Chalk it up to automotive ADD

It's not terrible, I think I am just getting old. I want to be isolated from all noise for those 2.5 hours. If you want to give it a try let me know, would be in your price range, I'd ask 19k I think

DO NOT buy a land barge w/ 4 cyl + auto. The TSX isn't a small/light car (new gen). If you are going land barge and need auto you have to go with the V6. I am surprised that the new gen which is 3,400 lbs pretty much same my gen TL is even *fun* with a manual I4. I don't believe it, numbers don't add up, but I haven't driven one so I don't know. I am positive it's very uninspriing to drive doe.
How did you narrow it down to the TSX? Did you drive the IS350, which seems most fitting for you? Did you drive a TL?
Is this another one of those mid day epiphanies you had? I am going to assume you've already put a deposit on one at Faraz and associates

Dude, please drive an IS350, it's a completely different car. I know most people here hate it, but I think it fits right into what you want.
I agree TL is a large car.

Is350, change the sway bars for the f sport ones (this is a must). Done. I would lower it but you don't have to do that.
You also need to put the red precut tail light vinyl over the Orange reflectors...
Make sure you get one that has a decent number of options.

drive mine. you're right, its a heavy(er) car, and i think it's just slightly smaller than your car, but it really doesn't feel like it. it doesn't roll, handles nice and responsive, and the 6spd is super short. i can city drive in 6th gear, often times skipping 5th. i think alot of the weight is from the stupid big gas tank, doesn't need to be that big imo.

^ Wes drive that one just to see (looks like a decent deal, comes with snows too). I don't know how different the typs S is, but it should be fun if my regular trim TL is a fun drive. I am assuming you are shying away from the TL because it's now 2 gens old?

The TL and new TSX are almost the same size, just a FYI:
Length TL: 189.3" TSX: 185.6" Width TL: 72.2" TSX: 72.4"
Weight TL: 3480 lbs TSX: 3400lbs
Yes it's 2 gens old, but they are cheaper and like you said the car will spend a lot of time in misc parking lots and getting beat up so it makes more sense. They also don't age as bad as infinitis that you are looking. Again, not trying to convince you to buy one, just saying value wise I think they are your best bet out of the stuff you've listed.
But if you want to spend at the max of your budget get the IS350.

i've driven them all, the TL-S quite the fun over the base, ESPECIALLY the 6spd...it hauls ass. it's noticeable when "you're on it". if you're just puddling along, then (of course) they feel similar. granted with the S, expected worse gas mileage and possibly slightly higher service cost (but not by much unless you pop something engine related).
30hp makes that big of a diff?

TSX is ok in size but TL is too big?
TL is only longer by 10 cm and wider by 5 cm -- unless you're squeezing into tight spots or cutting in and out of traffic all the time; it's pretty much the same size.
This point would stand for a 3 vs. 5 series - there's a 30 cm difference and could be a deal breaker in parking into a garage of newer cookie cutter homes.
IS250 is under powered -- 350 is ok... if you're a power monger, find a used IS-F .. '08 and '09s are decently priced.
Edited by hyper-s2k (10/09/14 09:16 AM) Edit Reason: Treed by RB on TL vs. TSX size - lol
