I am biased, but I was in a similar position close to a year ago.
I wanted a presentable beater/dd that's reliable/comfortable/peppy/etc. I looked at a ton of cars prior to that. I didn't consider the G35/37, don't like them at all (have driven multiple variants). Narrowed it down the 3rd gen TL, initially I was set on buying Jeff's is350...but timing didn't work in my favour. I looked at a few other ones but couldn't find something I liked and then my civic died so I was in a pinch.
Anyway the TL checked off all my boxes, I am extremely happy with the car, my only complain is the rear seats don't fold down and the turning radius sucks, so parking can be a pita in tight spots. Two very small draw backs, otherwise this is an amazing car, and an amazing value on the used market.
They also look pretty good
I had it rust proofed at regs in Scarborough right after I bought it.

Yea that's mine in the midst of a shady deal by the airport.
If we have a meet I will let you drive it. The turning radius isn't the worst but compared to a regular car you really have to make wide turns into spots or to solve that issue just start backing into spots - problem solved.
The fwd doesn't bother me as it's a daily. Sure there are times when I will give it a go out of a turn and it's sadface.gif but other than that I couldn't care less.

IMO for a comfortable daily you want something comfortable, good on gas, reliable, and atleast isn't a 1996 Buick to drive; also it should be cost effective because let's face it, they get beat to shit hence why it's a daily. Vas made a great choice with the TL, that gen is wicked. I was looking at them myself but the only thing holding me back was the v6, I think I do a bit more driving than vas so I wanted the 4 banger.
I don't care what anyone says, fwd is fine, great in the winter, and if you want something sportier well that's what the emtree is for. I would look for a TL like vas, tsx, 2010 gen accord which can be had for cheap etc if you don't need a lot of room maybe a csx, it comes optioned pretty good nav, hids.

I also fall to understand driveline snobbery when most any rwd platform pushes so much out of the box that it makes no difference anyway. Plus, unless it sees track time, one would be hard pressed to reap the benefits of being able to get on the gas sooner on corner exit. I would also agree that fwd is a good choice for a dd. Efficient, easy traction and can drive well to boot. Want rotation? Trail the throttle or left foot brake. The latter arguably takes more finesse than throttle steering a rwd car on the street. I wouldn't rule out a nice fwd car. I haven't seen any mention of budget, but stuff like tsx, tl, accord seem like solid contenders. Or a Volvo (dunno howhu those are used though), or Saab or even a Subaru. M B8 a4 even? Get the avant! Zomg hot.

It's not that bad on gas I am getting 10.5l/100km with mostly city driving. On the highway I can easily get mid to high 6l/100km. Considering side/weight I think it's pretty respectable.

Drive the is350 as well, I really like them, but they aren't perfect either. Driving dynamics are kinda meh, I felt cramped inside but you won't have that issue.

that's not as bad as I thought. I avg about the same highway but im in the 7's (8's if I'm in a rush or getting on it) in the city. even still you getting that with a 6 I'd call pretty damn decent.

I want auto this time cause I'll use it for road tripping etc too.
Why no g love whatsoever??? auto TL type S with oem kit. do it nao. most of them are available in auto, I'm trying to retro those calipers onto the TSX.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU, that's a hot car. I love the body colour vs wheel colour contrast, that's pretty much perfect imo.

Love that gen. TL.
Acura has nothing but shit to offer now. The TLX looks like a fucking accord and they toned down the ugly beak but then do the stupid jeweled headlights.
Wes the TL drives really nice imo. Great pick up for a used car.
Lol Wut? And the 3-series doesn't look like the 335i or the 5 series or the 7 series? Hell the m3 is a 3 series on roids! Same thing with audi, a4,5 and 6, Jetta and passat. And the lights look good, better than then rice led strip that audi has that has made it's way to accords and caravans across Brampton. They for sure look better than that weird inner headlights thing benz is trying to pull off right now.

Lol, did honda kick you in the nuts and steal your lunch money or some shit? Get past the badge bs and realise that Honda/Acura is still amazing value for the money. I'll admit they fell off for a bit when it comes to design but remember, their quality and reliability are still the same. Fit and finish are very comparable and in some cases even better; they just don't rape you on the price. See: 56k for entry level BMW 320i that is worse in every way even compared to an ilx. What does the BMW offer over it for all that extra money? A bit more hp? Who gives a crap, for a fun car ya but for a daily a Volkswagen rabbit has enough power for the DVP parking lot.
Don't even bother talking about reliability, Honda today is not the same as the Honda's 10+ years ago. It's quite obvious Acura needs to be valued positioned since they offer ZERO for looks, how else are they going to get people to buy their heaps. Look at the steep discounts that Acura has to offer just to get rid their cars. I honestly don't care about badge so give me a break, I fucking DD a 1998 Civic so do you really think I care about fucking image? Listen you like the brand and that's great, but Acura/Honda has fucking dropped the ball HUGE for over a decade now. Christ the new Corolla looks much better compared to the Civic.
