I also gave you exact advice, of which you replied with some stupid video.
Anyone who gives advice saying it's okay to lose a years worth of muscle building to move numbers on a scale is an idiot. Nothing was stupid about the video, and I don't even like that guy

alright then csi experts you throw a meal plan together these are my stats. I'll give each of you 3 months you can even throw together my training routine and I'll follow it. 90 days you guys can all vote on who's to follow and I'll do it, if it produces results I'll continue to follow it. If it doesn't you'll agree to shut the fuck up?
Time for you guys to man up.
5'8" 193lbs 18% bodyfat
currently doing 5/3/1
training maxes are deadlift 451 back squat 330 bench press 245 press 170 power clean 245
Goal, maintain muscle mass with cut, no poverty macros or stupid 1300 cal deficits or 24-48 hour fasting. Most I'll agree to fast is 14 hours at that.
You can do atkins style or low fat style doesn't matter.
Set it, I'll document it day in day out and post training logs and any other information you require.
Go. I'm up for this if you are but I have some requirements...
I'll hit you up on fb. leave the bang bus parade to continue twisting my titties here.

Well he can let me know his conditions and even if he wants anything shared. We'll go from there.

Fair enough. will report back in 2 weeks. with the macro stuff, interested to see what happens as well.
- pics 2 weeks, do you want me to include anything specific from this week or will the pics I posted on sunday suffice http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zjS_2pKt5kY/UhMH4ctTFsI/AAAAAAAAKEs/yoL-AgB0uOQ/s640/week11.png
-you're friends with me on mfp so you see everything I eat already but I can fill out a separate spreadsheet as well.
- for the accessory work I really just go by feel and energy levels. Like if I did bench, and felt like hitting upper chest, i'd do some cable flies, incline chese flies, smith bench and if I still felt like I had gas left something else. Nothing but the primary lift to failure, all managable sets. It's all written down anyway.
- I use endomondo to track workouts with the HRM and can build workout programs for intervals, and heart rate zones, etc. So that's not a problem.
fair enough. I will blog it for your entertainment csi.

Dumb question vaguely off-topic:
What exactly is the reason/mechanics behind lower weight meaning lower strength? Is it because of loss of muscle mass?
Theoretically, if one kept 95% of muscle mass while losing a decent amount of weight, would that person only lose 5% strength (let's say 5% of bench).
I never understood the actual correlation.

Not losing some lean mass in a sustained deficit is almost inevitable, unless you're on drugs...
But yeah fuel is the other reason... You might be able to lift the same amount of weight, but your volume would likely suffer...

...so basically, you need to eat big in order to lift big. That makes sense.

for bigger guys getting skinny it's mainly your leverages changing. Guys with big guts for example have huge squats and deads because they can push off of their gut, and wrapping a belt around that exerts more force, get rid of the gut and you kind of lose what you've focused your technique on.
So you pretty much have to relearn your leverages and your body once building back up. Not too sure how that relates to benching, but full body definitely.

I could never do a deadlift that heavy without starting lower and using a lot more quads. That video hurt my back just watching it

Anything lower is stupid, but again put something together I'll follow it and you'll either sink or swim as the dietician here.
I don't know why you keep saying this. Is it just because you don't WANT to eat so little, or because you think you're going to somehow wither away?

*ALMOST* inevitable. I didn't lose any strength/volume when I did UD 2.0. I kept a spreadsheet and logs. I didn't GAIN any strength, but I didn't lose any, either. And that was with a VERY extreme weight drop in a very short amount of time.

Time for you guys to man up.
5'8" 193lbs 18% bodyfat
currently doing 5/3/1

Goal, maintain muscle mass with cut, no poverty macros or stupid 1300 cal deficits or 24-48 hour fasting. Most I'll agree to fast is 14 hours at that.

Go.
I think you're going to do Diezel's routine, but here's my suggestion.
Training:
Continue on 5/3/1, reset as directed by protocols when you stall out. Train 4 days a week, following Boring But Big protocol, 15-20 reps on accessory lifts MAX. Preferably 15.
Cardio after weights, LISS or MISS, 30 minutes.
One day a week, do this cardio routine:
5 minute warmup 5 minutes HIIT, 15 seconds on, 45 seconds off, balls to the wall. Rest 5 minutes. Walk, sit, whatever. 20-40 minutes MISS. 5-10 minutes HIIT, 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off, 80-90% max HR.
Only do this one day a week, and do it on a day you didn't lift, and when you have the longest break between lifting sessions. This would be Saturday, assuming you are lifting M/T/Th/F.
Nutrition:
1800 cals MAX
90g carbs, 40g fat (MAX), 270g protein. As far as percentages, that works out to 60% protein/20% carbs/20% fat. Do that for 13 days, then you get ONE DAY of carb-reloading, but fat MUST be kept to a minimum. No donuts. No pork rinds. Pasta, bagels, pretzels, pancakes, cereals are your friends. Fruit is fine, but go easy on the candy. Not really worried about sucrose and fructose vs glucose here. Main thing is to keep the fat low. 50g max.
Take a multivitamin and 6 fish oil pills every day. Do an EC stack if you want. No caffeine on carb load days, as it inhibits uptake of carbs to muscles.

Keys were high protein intake, still training heavy and in reality it was a short period of time... How much weight was lost in how much time again...?

Adding extra quote tags just in case. I'll definitely try out your cardio routine on one of my rest days or something. Sounds fucking miserable. But I'll probably hold off on the peeled dieting and give Diezel his shot at an I told you so.
