Wayne I really hate to do this to you BUT... Http://www.jlr.org/content/30/11/1727Cliffs: The body can store fat WITHOUT the presence of insulin through acylation stimulating protein... That kinda shoots a huge ass whole in your whole carb night thing bro... Of course common sense tells you that the presence of protein in your diet creates an insulin response as well but we'll gloss over that for now... So this whole timing thing again is utter nonsensical...
Just in case anyone who cared about the dickswinging in here... Diesel's question was answered.
I read the study again, note- the transport of triacylglycerols is temporarily biosynthetic with the surge of them, but the data does not specify if it is like insulin in how insulin is a hormone that down regulates degradation of free fatty acids and upregulates B-ketoacyl synthase in cells for extended periods of time (because insulin also downregulates response from growth hormone and glucocorticoids). It looks more like an autocrine protein for biosynthesis of triacylglycerols.
There are also a few queries I'd bring up in the methodology, such as what happens when the glycogen levels have reached their capacity, would ASP be stimulated then, as B-ketoacyl synthase would be working in full swing to synthesize palmitate and stearate, and hence cells would need to form triacylglycerols for storage (only 75 g of CHO were administered in the experiment).
It could also be an autocrine response for interactions between lipases and Apoprotein CII as a stimulus, perhaps it's not the same reaction. I'd like to see them try it again, though when glycogen is filled

Wayne you lost what; 10 net pounds in 3 months and are sitting at 188...? Yet you think you're going to be at 175 in 3 weeks...?
Lol
Well my friend, whats equally as funny is this if you want to take a step back and think about it.
you've been painstakingly following my progress for whatever amt of time with your big book of skeptical and you're completely aware of the fluctuations in bodyweight that come along with whatever protocol I'm following. You also get to see what I eat daily, and you think that I'd have a problem dropping to 175 by the end of the month when I dropped almost 18lbs in 2 weeks.
Nevermind all of that heresay...
I see your food log and all of the stuff you eat and really you eat a lot worse than I do, you just use low fat high carb sources to keep a constant insulin bump throughout the day which is great for building muscle.
You look pretty full. But how much have you grown really, you posted up measurements for your quads the other day and that doesn't seem that big at all for someone your size, your arms look massive, and your back is ripped but it's not overly wide either for your size.
The amt of time you spend criticizing things is hilarious to me.
You were super yoked about 8 years ago, gained weight, said you experienced muscle atrophy during your bear phase, and now you're bigger than ever. Just how much bigger are you now than you were then. If you have any throwbacks you can post to compare size because I don't think you're all that much bigger now than you used to be.
You're putting up awesome weight at the expense of form but I don't give you shit for it. As long as you're doing it and getting better that's all that matters to me.
I just don't understand how the same doesn't translate to some other people that post here.
Not that I don't appreciate and listen to anyones feedback here. Much less I didn't even start this thread, but now I'm updating it to entertain people who tend to spend their days doubting what I'm doing. But seeing me make gains on my lifting, and body comp.
Sure I'm not 150lbs shredded, but I'm not weak as fuck either. And I always have to re-iterate every fucking time.
This is not a 90 day shread, 90 day bulk, 30 day shred. This is a marathon, not a sprint.
Find all the skeptism in me you want, I follow this diet purely because of the progress Mark Bell has made, and you can make all the steroid comments in the world regarding his strength, he's no stranger to gear. It doesn't mean you go in the gym and get free muscles either.
http://www.markbellpower.com/
read his carbnite blog. tell him hes' full of shit.
I'd emplore anyone to entertain me with the results.

Back fat has a lot to do with eating crappy carbs that spike insulin levels. checked the fuck out right here
I didn't even bother reading it cause I knew it was a bunch of bullshit before starting but after seeing that GEM, I may actually read it for the lawlz factor...

Well lets see...
First you're comparing my current progress to yours when you're trying to lose fat and I'm not...
I apologize if I'm comparing. It was more of a CTFD statement I was trying to make.
Apples to oranges or should I say muscles to fat...?
Yes, the guy who dropped down to what 190 and is 211 right now eating pop tarts and cereal to hit macro's is trying to tell me my dieting method is stupid. And you're chiseled out of atlas stones. Sure you look a lot better than me musculature wise, but those little abs of yours are quickly disappearing with each update.
But you're going to try and tell me that's ALL muscle you packed on and no flab, and once you do your cut, you're not going to lose any of that.
But me streamlining the same process is stupid.
As stupid as you comparing your level of progress to mine.
Just want to throw this in here quick before I forget... You say you lost 18 pounds in 2 weeks...? Was that when you were running in a rubber suit, dehydrating the fuck out of yourself and still looked fat afterwards...? No but if I wanted to be a general girl here posting my results since numbers are the only thing that seem to matter. I can easily do that too.
As far as my proportions, my arms are only 17" Andy legs are 25"... Mind you yours may be similar in size but you're "fat" dude, real fat... Lets not kid ourselves... You still have back fat creases... You have made some progress in fat loss but over 3 months what you've done isn't outstanding by any means...
I never said what I've accomplished is outstanding, I'm halfway through my dieting cycle.
Comparing yourself to a gear head is FUCKING RETARDED... You're not on the same playing field... I don't get where I compared myself to Mark Bell.
The circus continues...

Wayne - do you engage in any type of cardio activity during all this?
For the most part, if you mean anything steady state then no. I do HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and it's mentioned in the blog. 20-40-60 second airdyne bike sprints with a minute rest,
jump rope, burpees, blah blah. Most of my cardio comes from met con exercises or crossfit, since I'm still a little tender in the spinal erectors (especially after trying to row this morning) I'm easing off the crossfit and olympic lifting until the weekend.
I did go for a 3.5 mile walk, will probably start walking and hiking on the weekends again, just to do something non meatheadish for a change.
