Hit 45 miles for this past week, which included three 10.5 milers. Time is coming back down as well, so I'm happy. 15/15 for this month so far. Nice! I just noticed that I passed 1000 miles for the year, 1018 to be exact.
1203.3 for me! I've been adding in a bunch of hill work the last week or so. Feel good, and hopefully it will help next month.

Gad. My knees were tender after last Monday's run. Soreness in the joints. It went away for the most part, but came back in full force 1/8 mile into today's run. They still hurt a decent amount now.
It definitely feels like it's in the joint (as opposed to behind the cap). The whole time, I was trying to do a mid-foot strike (I'm still baffled by the toe strike).
Really bums me out, because the cardio end of it isn't an issue at all. The impact is fucking my world up.

Knees still aching from Monday's run. WTF?!
I want to run--especially since now I have the sprint tri thing in my head. I just don't get why it has to hurt.

Yeah, I'm playing it by ear. This is a new type of pain, so it caught me off guard. I have a feeling it'll come back almost immediately next time I run. We'll see.

Sexy butt aside, that's pretty sweet.
I've gotten a few kits from doing the MS150--nice little fringe benefit for raising money. Decent stuff, too--VO2 Max.
What do tri shorts usually run? I have a feeling I'll need to snag some next year.

Had my own success today. Nabbed 1st place age group and 10th overall in a reverse sprint. Also hit one of my goals for the year, a sub 20:00 5k. The run course was almost a half mile long, but I hit 3.1 at 19:58. Bike was pretty good...did the 12 miles is 32:00. It had a few hills that zapped some speed, but it was a solid ride. Swim was 6 lengths of a 25m pool....kind of tough to hit the water already gassed, but it was over quick.
FFFUUUU that sounds tough. Starting out with the swim seems like a much easier effort.
While I like the idea of not having to swim in open water, how the hell did they keep track of laps in the pool and how was it not a clusterfuck of people?
Props for really starting to kick ass in this stuff. Pretty amazing.

They call it a serpentine swim. Swim one length, duck under the lane line to the next lane, swim back, move to the next lane etc. that's why they do it in reverse...the field is pretty thinned out by then. I only had to pass one guy.
Sweet. That makes a lot more sense.
FWIW, I ran 3.40 miles today, as I did on Monday. Both felt GREAT. I actually hustled on the last half-mile each day. I'm starting to enjoy running again--WTF?!
I see this as my outdoor cardio over the winter. The bike gets miserable below 45 degrees (even with cold weather gear), but I could see myself running if it's sunny and above freezing. We'll see. I just don't want to lose this level of cardio I have right now. I want to go into Spring strong for cycling.

Other than the extremities, colder is better for running as far as I'm concerned! But then again SC cold ain't the same thing as RI cold.
Word to that.
I don't see myself out there below freezing, but we'll see. Also will depend on how clear the sidewalks/shoulders are post-snowstorms. Fucking winters...

Huge PR this morning with a 19:22 Flattest possible course - a runway. Out, a wide U-turn on a taxiway, and back. Wifey PR'd with around a 24:00 too.
