I think it's because of how it's broken up. With Fran you are getting the bulk of the reps done when you're still fresh at the very beginning. With this it's like a hill that gets steeper and steeper the more tired you are. Like I said before, I personally hit a wall at the 15 rep round. You may and probably will get further than me. I looked at beyondthewhiteboard.com and the top of the bell curve is 70-80 reps, so it's pretty common to not hit 90.
Good luck! I'm curious what your result is gonna be now, lol.

if i compare my percentile ranking on Fran (70th) to the same percentile on the 11.6 WOD, i am supposed to get 88 reps.
of course this may not be accurate as results posted on BTWB for the games WOD may be more competitive.
however, last time I did Fran was a year ago, and since then my back squat has gone up 30# and my max rep C2B has increased at least 2 reps, so we'll see what happens.
someone at my box got 100 reps and has around a 3:40 Fran, which is significantly faster than my last time.
here's my gameplan
7:00 - Start 6:40 - thru 3 6:00 - thru 6 5:00 - thru 9 (first 3 rnds unbroken, short rests only on transitions this round) 3:00 - thru 12 (should allow for 3 breaks on both thrusters & pullups -- go easy this round so there's no burn-out in round of 15) 1:00 - thru 15 (should allow for 2 breaks on both thrusters & pullups -- this will be the only challenging round so far) last 1:00 - as many thrusters as possible, try to get at least 10 to hit 100 reps

well went with the gameplan, but my breaks were longer than they should have been, so that last 1:00 was 0:00. got 89 reps and had a very high pull-up (but not touching to the bar) taken away
by the end it was all trying to preserve some lungs and then major grip fail near the end of the 15 pull-ups. if i had had ANY time left i could have pumped out thrusters with quickness (and then puked)

89 reps is super solid. Nice work man! I broke on the 9 rep round, I prob could have toughed it out had I been healthy. I kinda mentally half-assed it a bit knowing that I still have a wheeze, lol.
137 did you meet him? Glassman is the godfather of CF, he started it all.

i guess i shouldn't complain, my rank on the 6th WOD is so much higher than on any of the first 5. which really surprises me. i guess people can double under and box jump all day but can't put together thrusters and C2B.
still my workouts always tend to end in a somewhat mediocre fashion
i was thinking of what my ideal crossfit workout would be, in order to get the highest ranking...i decided: 2 minute time limit 15 muscle ups then run until time expires score is distance run
glassman are you listening??

what times here have people gotten on JT? my times are awful for this WOD. i can get the first 20% of the workout done in 1 minute, then 17 minutes more for the rest of it, struggling to get 1 rep at a time. ugh. this is with legit reps, if i didnt care about locking out the last 2" i would shave several minutes off. it's where i always fail.
next time, i am going to try breaking it up into very small sets. 5 reps, rest 30 seconds, repeat. then try to slowly reduce the rest time.

JT is probably one of my strongest workouts. I can knock out some HSPU's like nobody's business so my best time is around 7.5 minutes. You just gotta stay loose somehow, cause after that first round of 21 for everything your shoulders seize up, lol. That wod always gives me a crazy pump.

Wow that's a pretty cool workout. Nice job on doing them unbroken, it takes a real gut check to tough it out like that.

Do it with the men's weight, pussy!!! Lol. Did you set the rings above your reach? I am still not good at turning out. At all.
Either way I love that workout and I hope to do it this week. I did it about a year or so ago and finished in 11 minutes or something rx'd. It's tricky to catch 135lbs correctly when you're winded from MU's.

yes i did
since my max OHS was 126# last time i tried, i kind of doubt that squat snatching for reps @ 135# is going to happen

push pressed 175 for 5 reps on my 3rd set. a push press PR attempt for any reps, and just 2# less than my max jerk attempt. stronger than i thought!

Nicely done man. It's such a great feeling when you have a lot more than you think. With that in mind, you might want to revisit that max OHS weight. If you can jerk it and you can squat it, no reason you can't do an OHS with it

Nice dude, super solid! Your lifts are coming along nicely.
Anyone do the regional workouts yet? I did the first one, run 1k / 30 HSPU / row 1k in 11:20. I was hoping for the ten minute range but I guess it wasn't that realistic. The row at the end was awful!

so i was at the crossfit mid-atlantic regionals this weekend
this guy, AJ Moore, sort of got robbed. or, everyone else got lucky.
he finished 5 of the 6 WODs placed 1, 2, 2, 2, and 6. except for WOD #4, he placed last (30th).
the judge took away about 60 KB swings, requiring him to do a total of 160 reps there. the judges were told the KB must be vertical at the top. OK, in the called no reps, the KB is not vertical. Barely. A couple degrees. I really doubt that taking out a protractor to make sure the KB is perfectly vertical was the intention behind the judging standard. more likely, it was to make sure nobody does a swing with the bell pointed forward, or without being in control of it. he ended up finishing 4th and therefore misses going to the games
video here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=kBqGL8e_UIA
this is 6 minutes of approx 13 minutes of KB swings
this was by far the more strict case of judging, but ive seen a few crossfit events and this was by far the hardest judging ever. if you were judged like this on your daily workout you'd never finish one. tons of OHS reps called back from hips not being fully open, even when they were (loose clothing). HSPUs that don't count because an elbow appears 1/4" from lockout. pretty brutal.

Werd, some of the regionals' judging standards was a bit suspect. I guess it's kinda like reffing in any real sport, there are going to be disagreements at times.

So what's everyone working on lately? Did Fran yesterday rx'd...5:36. A little slower than last time but I worked on pacing a lot more. I broke up thrusters into 3 x 7 which worked really well - finished them in about a minute. I felt fresher on pullups too, but then on the second round I kinda fell apart when I tried splitting it into 8 and 7 instead of 3 x 5. Overall I didn't feel like I wanted to die quite as much, so I consider that an accomplishment considering I was only 16 seconds off my previous time (which went very badly, stamina wise)
