I like it when people make car buying decisions based on how the car performs on the track, which is 0.00000000000000000000001% of where the car will be used day to day.
wow understeer is SO bad making that left on Hurontario, wow, sell car, need atom

LOL RB, don't be silly. The initial premise of the thread was to merely ask for an opinion/experiences on the car as I have exactly zero experience with it. As understeer was brought up, it just so happens that this was the aspect the thread became focused on. It could have just as easily taken a turn in another direction and we could have been hypothetically been discussing the air conditioner of the car. Or the awkward knob protruding out of the dash. And that's just it - they're discussion points. I'm simply doing my homework on this beautiful wedge of cheese. I actually wasn't referring to you, more the 4age/hatorade I like the car for a DD, but it's FWD honda for fawk's sake, why are people compalining about understeer. O'RLY, undArStir?
But they bring up something pretty valid IMO. Understeer will be a given in a civic. I know this - I've had quite a few. But to hear that it's more pronounced in the one I'm considering is also good information.
Bah, I just need to STFU and head out to Hamilton. Faraz has one for under $5k. He'll let me try it out, I'm sure. I don't want to be a test-pilot on a private sale.
all you really need to know is
Know what? That I'll never be able to slide through a corner like that? I know But that's okay. That kind of thing is too scary anyway.

misconception is misconception. driveline isn't the only thing affecting handling balance. the only thing with fwd is that you cannot get on the throttle as early as you otherwise could in a rwd or awd car. all cars, regardless of driveline, can be setup to rotate off throttle. Its' just when and how soon can you get back on the throttle. The fwd debate should largely be limited to that aspect. AKA understeer affects everything. So many rwd platforms push like pigs out of box, yet no one complains bc those birdbrains dont really know what understeer is.
Regarding understeering cars for street use...Maybe you'll understand when you pop your cherry, grasshopper XD When you get discerning about how a car drives, certain traits (and when it occurs in the corner) will bother you. Street driven or not. The more you get involved in this type of thing, the more nuances can bug you. Just like bike fit, yo :p
Sounds like fatso has a particular driving style and also likes being on the throttle most of the time through a corner (hence his crazy car setup XD). Ep3 will need a lot of work to drive like that. Though on small tracks it's probably fine. Short wheelbase.

Where are these twisty roads/corners during your GTA commute that you experience so many levels of feelz? Please guide me master, give me feelz.
Or did you feel all of that during your 401 rush hour crawl while switching lanes, those feelz?

^I don't commute. But to suggest that how a car reacts on throttle, off throttle, on the brakes & corner entry/exist has no affect for street use is a naive statement doe.
For real. Perhaps you feel this way bc you drive very "citizenly" or you simply cannot tell. Nothing wrong with either of those things. I would not be able to tell had it not been for all the seat time I've had. But since I've had it, and I'm passionate about this stuff, I do care. Agree to disagree. Peace, you eastern european excuse maker XD

I actually agree with 100% of what you are saying, i think however you are exaggerating the feelz of a car during street driving. Going back to that whole internet thing where what people read in reviews is what they are looking to feel in real life, but most don't, but play along. Like throwing aero wheels when you are a mediocre rider (myself). You don't feel sh!t, but you ALL insist i should amirite? Then again I am not Euphoric and I don't adjust the back support of my seat to the upright position of my 99 civic dx as I fly into an onramp on bald 185/60/14 motormaster tires and then write a raging 1 page review on handling and feelz characteristics (which is what you are doing now )
OH NO U DIDNT. I agree with you, if the car is well balanced from factory, it doesn't matter. An E90 M3 pushes on entry, but it doesn't matter much on the street bc ultimately the limit is too high to experience much on the street.
But if the car was a 135, I disagree. The difference is massive. Bigger than aero wheels vs shallow wheels massive XD XD XD XD Surely, you can agree with that. Just like how the difference between an odyssey and a civic can be felt XD XD Does it matter? Ok fine, not really. But if I were to spend a chunk of change on a car, I want it to drive the way I like.
BTW, S4 pushes like a dog on entry. And yes, even on the street.
BRB adjusting backrest.

Sure, but not at Shannonville. Now that I've discovered the wonders of DDT, I'll never go back to Shanny. Come with me on the 6th of Sep!
How much? I want in! And yes, trail braking, left foot etc will help out. But I remember I was really appalled at how bad the ep3 was. If you see how these cars look like when lowered, you might see why it has all that push. The rear camber gain is HUGE. Front has essentially none XD It can be fixed. Go with that huge bar. 26mm holy moly XD
Ugh don't forget I had a camber kit for the rear to correct the camber after lowering.
