You take what you can get when it comes and you make the best of it. I think the shot is great. Well processed, the fence is just an unfortunate location. I dig it!

Am I the only one that doesn't take the rule of thirds, golden ration, and all that into account when taking a shot? I just frame, that looks good, snap.

That is a cool one. Was it in a wildlife preserve or something?
The one time I've seen a Coyote around here, he was over a barbed wire fence within seconds of seeing me coming.
I learned how to manually remove purple fringing with this picture. That is with using Paint Shop Pro X3. I'm slowly learning. I was using my 127 dollar (Sigma) QUANTARAY 70-300DI F/4-5.6. At 300mm, the purple fringing is atrocious.

My lunch, from my shoot today. I know, harsh shadows are harsh. Couldn't get the lighting just right and was competing against tungsten lights. The natural light through the front window was being filtered by the tinted window which caused some problems too. still have to fix the white balance
bbq salmon w mashed potatoes and green beans
potato pancakes with guac and salsa
gnocchi in cream soup with garlic and basil (this was phenomenal!)
hot fudge sundae

We call them red-winged blackbirds around these parts. Good shot, they tend to shy away from me so all mine are at a considerable distance (except a couple of females, but they are neither red-winged nor black).

Yeah, I've got some other ones with more bowl, but you see the cream starting to congeal so it looks kinda nasty. I had to crop that one in order to get the good spot. Meh, I hate shooting soup, hard to do.
Anyway, so they asked me to shoot a VIP even tomorrow night. Lindsay Czarniak is leaving the local NBC station to go to ESPN and they're having her going away party there tomorrow night. There's going to be a lot of local celebrities and probably some sports figures (ie, Chris Cooley from the Redskins). Pics are going to be published (most likely the NBC4 website and possibly washingtonpost.com). Looks like i'm going dual camera. Gotta charge the batteries.
