Yeah. It's ridiculous that the 7D is still canon's crop flagship after 2 years. My T2i takes the exact same quality photos. I just looked at the current price... $1600??? Is canon high on bath salts? I thought they were more like $1200 or $1000. wtf  Guess I'll look at a 60D at Best Buy in the morning. Anything with a top LCD display and faster shutter. Ah well... Thought I was gonna upgrade a lot, but $1600 for a 7D isn't happening in this lifetime. Maybe a memorial day sale?
Canon is high for the prices they ask.
However, I must stress that your t2i CAN take the same quality photos, but clearly the camera is nowhere near the same league. Just the build quality and autofocus alone are worth the extra, not to mention the speed. But yes, nuts to bolts, the IQ and high ISO performance are nearly identical.
And fwiw you should be able to find a new 7d for 1250-1300 body only pretty easily.

Link? All I saw was $1600 when I searched last night. I have $$$ in hand, ready to buy. However... I DO remember buying the thing I'm typing on last year at a Memorial Day sale, so I'll wait until Monday so that I don't get corn-holed.
The AF and build quality of the 7D DOES appeal to me, but idunno. It's an old design that still hasn't been fixed with a firmware update? amirite? I know it's a substantial upgrade from my rebels, but that price is just stupid.
Back on topic. Saw this photo while flipping through LR3 and it was hiding out in folder I completely forgot about. Nothing great about it, Just thought the bokeh (omg he said bokeh) looked nice in the background. Not bad for a 30 year old lens.

metalhead - I actually like the way you cropped/captured. Having just a little bit of one of the planes off the screen gives the illusion of motion through the picture for me and doesn't deter from the shots at all. I think both your shots are wonderful. I mean I'm captain cut-a-person in half while shooting paintball...

Lol it was half a joke because it's a nifty fifty but if you really don't think that's sharp AT ALL, then how can you think any of YOUR images are? Thats a 100% uncropped full size hosted image. Make sure your browser zooms in and you can count hairs and pollen on the insects body.
