You have a good idea with the longer exposure. Now find a way to make the blurred / smooth water work for you. Think more fountain, less background.

Oh I'm not disagreeing here - it was definitely a test shot. I have maybe 20-30 test shots of that fountain just playing around with getting the lighting and water work.

I wish you could mask camera raw gradients... Bob, I like what you did there, just wish it didn't bleed over onto the buildings.

i guess it'd be possible once you open it up in ps. just would take a few more steps.
I was thinking you could do the image twice and then paste them together as layers with some masking.

It would make my life easier, I use the grad filter a lot.
I also want to be able to apply lens corrections to layer masks in PS for when I fuck up and don't notice that the CA is intolerable until I'm halfway through painting a mask in.

The lower contrast on the elk or the goddamn-that's-green background? I'm torn on the elk myself, but that background and it's sharpening had to go.

I'd like to see a BIT more color in #2.
I've been playing with the camera profiles in ACR looking for something different than my usual Landscape profile and this was one of the 3 D2X profiles I had downloaded. It is a little drab.

I actually enjoy the bleed, as if it were a real grad filter in front of the lens...it's a look I just dig...if slightly old school. It's often hard to place properly and find the right level of graduation and stops down.
I spent a good long while farting around with selecting portions of another photo last night and was about to stab myself...and all for results I didn't really like.

I wish I knew how to fuck around in LR or PS like you guys do... I'm sure some of my pics would look fucking way better then they do, lol.. I'd love to make the clouds 'pop' more so it looked a bit more stormy (It wasn't)
