Believe it or not he surprised me! Haha. I was walking along a boardwalk trail over the swamp and turned a corner and saw this guy. He posed for me for a solid 3-4 mins. I was even able to drop my bag and throw the 300mm on the camera. Thanks for the kind words

Almost the same thing happened to me at the creek by my house. I walked up on the heron feeding 10 feet away and didn't see it until it freaked out and flew off.
All I had was a 135mm lens that day:

I *really* liked the warming suggestion so I ran with it. This is a reduced-size version of the file I sent off to print. I'm not sure how it goes with others, but the prints from mpix end up about 1/3rd to half a stop darker than my monitor and the color gets washed out just a bit, so this might seem a bit severe on the web.
i went through with a variety of colors, little touches, and in the end I kept coming back to this. <3 folders for layers, btw. saved my ass a few times and made picking out what I liked so much easier.
