On the chinatown and cycling pictures is it the film, camera settings or processing that gives you that look? On the digitial pictures are you pushing the contrast and the blacks. I am not sure what you are doing but it gives your pictures a weighty and substantial feeling that I can not accomplish.

Sirbeefhead Sirbeefhead Clearly Stealing Corporate IP Post Master Supreme Registered: 06/05/02 Posts: 45008 Loc: Massachusetts	the color film is very contrasty, it's color slide film - Fuji Velvia - and it's known for saturated colors and deep blacks. The Ilford b/w was underexposed which is what pushed the blacks down. That's shot with a Holga which has a fixed shutter (roughly 1/100) and only two aperture settings, an equiv f/8 and f/11, but again that's an estimate. But I also do some tweaking in lightroom, mostly playing with the tone curve to selectively alter different zones. I can't remember exactly what I did with the street shot to be honest.

And was it planned? cheers, scott I fixed the horizon and cropped it in LR2, but it seemed boring to me so I left it as it was shot. It actually wasn't a u-turn at all. I took the shot looking left and panned as the car drove by. The reason it looks like a u-turn is because my neighbors driveway is on a slant so the camera was level looking both ways down the road, but was pointed upward a bit looking across the street. With that weird movement when panning, it makes it look like a u-turn. _________________________ -Chad
