Just got tired of the Lexus IS250. No problems with ownership and saved me once on a country road when some jack ass pulled a U turn on me and I had to drive on loose gravel to avoid him.
It was a good 5 years but it was a pain to pull a toddler in and out so in comes a........2015 Q3 Technik. Nothing inspiring drive wise. It was a CPO for a good price so just pulled the trigger.
I'll probably get a pure sports car at some point but in the meantime, I will enjoy the high ride height.

What is stopping you?
X1 was in contention as well for me but just prefer Audi.
It's ranked better than the Q3. In the back of my mind, there seems to be less computers and other gizmos that will break down.

I've had a Q3 loaner a few times, not sure what to make of it. I really can't stand how it drives or the engine (for me personally).
Was the main reason for the switch because of ride height/bending down when putting kid in car seat? That's my only complaint when putting a toddler in a lowered car hence why I wanting an SUV myself.

I really want a VW all track in 6spd, just don't like the driving dynamics of a CUV. But it's hard to argue that it has been great for work as I uber my clients around and I need that badge perception. Otherwise I would have never even purchased the X3 to begin with.
So I'll just keep driving it till it dies lol

Yeah. Throwing in the kid is the main reason. That and my new place has a short garage so the RDX and Lexus won’t both fit.
The drive is uninspiring but there isn’t much in my price point ($22kish). The RDX is the primary car so this one didn’t need to be quick. Trying to save the cash to get something fun later in life.

Honestly, you can't go wrong with VW/Audi/Porsche, generally VAG family.
I'll admit that I do miss the Honda reliability.
I am hoping this will be like the A3 wagons out there. There seem to be a good bunch of them on the road

Thanks J. If I had the 350, I may still have it but this thing is dog slow.

They are boring AF to drive. SQ5 would have been nice but considering I drive about 5000 kms a year, I can't justify it.
At least you got a sports Beatle you can drive in the summer. My speed machine is the RDX.

Yeah. We both take the Go to work and the RDX does that well.
I just need my car to see clients, go play poker, hang out etc. If and when #2 comes, I will take that to the Go.

The question now is if I want a 4 year extended warranty over the one year CPO for $2500....
From what I’ve read, the Q3 is pretty reliable. I am leaning towards nah.

I feel the same with my Civics and the Lexus. Just want to try German.
At one point, I was being selfish and wanted a 2016 CLA 45 as they've come down in price but got cold feet as that car wasn't tuned for reliability and I didn't want to go econobox as I had decent value on my Lexus still.
I read a lot of reviews and while the 2.0 turbo engine isn't a rocket, I didn't read anything terrible about them either. Actually a lot places said Q3s were reliable. lol

congrats on the new ride; CPO is the way to go for a German car. lol
we were looking at the Q3 when it first came out - what annoyed me was the lack of rear cargo room + slanted rear glass that really limited in fitting cargo (enough for a weekend trip up to the cottage) - so we ended up our x1 (at least the glass is straight so i can pack in regular sized boxes.
in your case, as long as it fits the stroller, baby seat and can bring home multiple boxes of diapers at a time then it's all good.

Thanks. Yeah. We have the RDX for extra room.
Picking up the German lawnmower tomorrow.
I also got silver and not the official colour of Markham White.
As for the warranty after the one year CPO. Will roll the dice. It’s just a Tiguan with a nice interior.
