Guess it's the Uber of car rentals where owners provide their personal vehicles up for rentals. Looking for a minivan for the long weekend and the typical rentals are booked up.
Not directly, but I know friends who have used it and generally had good experiences. I've also heard stories of last-minute cancellations so take it with a grain of salt. Like most peer-sharing networks, look for providers with lots of good feedback.
Rented a manual 650HP Z06 in Vegas with no issues at all. The owner measured the tires and said don't do a burn out. Took the car to the desert and had lots of fun, gave it back and continued the trip.
Many car insurance providers know about Turo now and insure it as they would any normal rental car with your policy.

Isn't the owner's insurance the one on the hook? They can't go after someone's insurance if they don't got one. We should get 20 people and all chip in for the lambo. Gang rape that shit.
turo is probably the perfect way to teach someone how to drive standard if you don't want to f up your own car. lol.
My dad use to go for test drives (civics, accord) when 5 spd was readily available. That’s how I learned to drive stick :p
That’s why I will never buy a demo.
