I haven't bothered dragging a camera outside for meteors in years. If I use a fisheye they're like a pixel wide. If I use a 50mm then a fireball is guaranteed to happen just out of the frame.
The last few nights/ mornings have been nice though. Just looking off the front porch there's one every few minutes in front of Alcyone.
I went outside the house last night for a few hours and saw 1 HUGE meteor and a handful of small ones. I got some decent star shots but nothing remarkable. Im going to go out tonight and make a time lapse of the stars once it gets dark enough outside. I just got my Nikon remote in the mail so I can do some star trail photos, too.
Tried to see the Perseids the other night. Saw them with the eyes but didn't get any on camera. Saw the Milky Way for the first time though, so thats kinda cool.
Was supposed to go out lastnight, cloud cover screwed me. Milky Way was easily visible with the naked eye though through the breaks. Maybe tonight I'll give it a go.
