Risky Business goes clubbing! - Too bad I slowed down a bit early + my best lap(from what I could gather from the footage)...wasnt perfect either. 3.2 vs 3.2 down the back straight. 2:05.3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elNHXsxye9U
Looks like you guys had fun. From what I remember from that same turn in the teg, in order to get enough traction at the higher speeds I had to do a quick brake while straight, turn immediately turn and full throttle in order not to spin. Trail braking was a no go for me.
Different cars though, not sure how the rwd would play out.

So let me axe you this csi elite race crew.
My car is pretty much stock aside from suspension and an intake. I don't really care for going faster, but I'd like to get it buttoned down for da twistiez.
The only things I am going to do are fix the lock up issue and get tires for next year. Should I go squared or should I stay staggered? Long term going squared is cheaper as I'd go back down to a 17" rim, can rotate tires, and generally 17" tires are cheaper...or just get staggered 18" tires 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 for my current wheels. Not sure what to do, biggest issue with going squared is finding the right wheels, i'd like an OEM squared setup, which could prove expensive (buy two sets of oem wheels, sell the narrower wheels, etc). This is making me lean towards just keeping my wheels and just getting new tires and that's it.
Thoughts?

How badly do you guys fuck up a set of tires with a single track day? I'd love to get the oilburner out there for some fun.

if you go square, upgrade the front anti-roll bar as well.

when i had my s2k, i probably did 6 to 8 shanny days. tires weren't that fucked; was running Azenis back then.
then again i only drove that car in the dry on the roads; so kinda hard to gauge; but obviously by the 8th day they felt like hockey pucks compared to the first time i hit the track with em.

Boss lasted 9 lapping days - 2 mosport, 6 shannonville, 1 cayuga (wet). 1 of which was a time attack.
For E36, definitely go square. I agree with the front sway option, though I'm not sure it's needed at this point. Play with that sort of thing after you get accustomed to driving it on the track and figure out what your preferences are. FWIW I ran square (235) with stock sways + PSS9. Worked for me, though there was a lot of corner entry understeer (which the sway remedies).
Forget about the tech doe. More seat time (with fixed brakes) will do you a whole world of good. I'd opt for that instead. You havent hit the top of what the car can deliver at this point. More driving and feeling it out at the limit will be more beneficial imo.
And I'd bet that your fronts chunked because your car was pushing, and you dialed in even more steering angle as it was pushing (a logical thing to do, but it's incorrect!). If you smooth it out, you'll find more time on the table--even with a staggered setup.

Thanks for the feedback. Just concerned about sidewall stiffness, bc I drive a 4000lb barge. I'm rocking 37psi up front to mitigate roll over. It works, though the lack of camber is still killing it. I'm not sure how much camber I can get at stock ride height...I assume I'm lucky if I can get -2.5

Euphoric - wtf XD No measuring needed. 2:05. bauce.
Screamin - zero oil consumption at any track day. is it supposed to be bad? I know the early v8's were. I have not had any issue though.
Mind you, I've already changed oil once in 3k km, so maybe i never had oil in there long enough to burn. That being said, it's for sure burning less than an E90 m3. Hatorade would know a thing or two about that. HAHA
