A UWA on my short list of lenses to buy. I used my Sigma Mini-Wide II 28mm for these since it has a nice manual focus ring that's easily set to infinity. Pentax makes a 10-17mm fisheye that's mainly, uh, fishy on the 10mm end.

 and a 12-24mm

or the beautiful little 15mm f/4 Limited prime...

 It's only money...

I need to get further out of town, away from light polution, the next time they're out like this. Last night was level 6 or 7, meaning they were out big and bright for several hours.

Fuck man, I'm so jealous.. Anytime I'm way up north I always get some killer milky way shots, but haven't lucked out on the aurora borealis yet!
 An oldie I re-worked.

With those crazy lights you could probably drop the ISO a bit and raise the shutter to get rid of some of the noise.

I also forgot, again, to set the camera in raw.
Here's how you fix that. Don't ever shoot anything NOT in RAW. Ever.

 Seriously though.

MetalheaD - is that a tattoo or fat rolls? Just seems off.
rcurley - I like that shot. I'd spot removal/PS out the little piece of cloth on the toe, it sort of sticks out to me.

I didn't even notice that. That's straight out of the camera with no touch up or crop, so I'll revisit it

I was just about to say that's the best pic you've posted (Then I read your buddy took them, lol) At least it will give you some ideas.

I did a quick edit on that image since it looked quite flat.

I think shots like this need a little more detail, but that's my take on it.

Parker, did you just HDR the shit out of that thing? OB1, it's not his pic, pretty much free reign especially if he's posting 'edits'

I improved the shadows, gave it a little contrast and clarity, remove some white clips and gave the rocks and surrounds a little bit of a burn.

It just looks a little HDR-ish because the shadows have more detail and I was working with a compressed JPEG.
