I just have my routine and I hate making excuses for weather.

I'll take 15-20 over 33 and rainy. Getting soaked and cold sucks.

But, I never have to worry about anything with a -

It's sort of fun when it's unique. Still impressed you guys do it week after week.

What's the forecast looking like this weekend? I bought a nice Marmot running wind/rain jacket that I still haven't used. \:D

You can never trust the weather man(it started snowing 2 hours ago, which was supposed to be in the foothills only). But...
Chance of snow on Saturday.
Rainy and cool on sunday. But I could see this forecast changing. Between now and there we're suppose to get cool but clear weather(teens at night, 30s at midday), then the moisture comes. Who knows basically.

You'll probably want that coat, especially given the more relaxed pace. Road or trail? I know more interesting trails, but I've not been running much trail and they'll be sloppy this time of year.

I'll be up for anything man...you choose. I need to find out from Chef what the schedule is, and I'll let you know.

Yeah, check your schedule, and find out where you guys are staying. I actually want to catch the bike show as well.

Could wrap up the run with a nice bacon-maple donut(don't know if you're still eating clean or not, I never am), or even a beer.

I had a blast crewing for my friend Matt Urbanski and taking photos at the Rocky Raccoon 100 last weekend down in Texas and it's been super cool seeing my photos popping up around town!

2000Siracer will you be going to any of the other Tajas trails events? I might hit up one of the shorter distances at hells hills or box of rox.

Two hats, two thin shirts, two thermal shirts, neckwarmer, tighty undies, thin long underwear, boxers and thin thermal pants.

The only thing that gets cold is my lips/nose and the tip of the dick. I need to find some sort of thermal boxers. I could easily use a balaclava, but I don't like breathing through fabric and I find I get too hot in them. Sweat drips and I come home with icycles.

Jebus - I wear way less than you to run around in the snow here. Maybe you're not working hard enough ;\)

Slacker - I'm afraid not. I was only in Texas for Rocky Raccoon to crew for a friend. I'll mostly be attending Colorado races this year and a couple in the DC area.

It was -5 with wind. You can run in snow at 30 degrees. Snow doesn't affect the air temp.

Felt great to get back on the trails today. Legs are still a little sore, but not bad for only taking two days off from the marathon effort.

Haha, maybe I didn't run the race as hard as I could have. \:D

I've actually been giving some thought to finding a flatter/faster course to try and lower that time between April and August.

Pancakes, huh? Portland is known for donuts, waffles, but I've never heard much about pancakes. When and where? There's some great breakfast places in this city.

I did just see that this little race is going on Sunday morning. I'm tempted!

Nah, I've heard that's even hillier! I did just put my name on the wait list for Mountains to Beach in Ojai/Ventura on May 25th. It's good timing, small field and a fast course (800ft net loss.)

I'm not going to worry about it as I have plenty to focus on in the next two months, but if I get a slot for that one I think I could go sub 3:05.

Awesome 4.5 mile run this morning with Dirty on some awesome snow covered singletrack just outside Portland. Chef was shooting photos too, which turned out pretty cool. Snow was coming down pretty hard the whole time with a good 6 inches of powder on the ground. Pretty amazing.

Saw some of the FB photos of you guys meeting up. Looked like fun! Not clicking the warning box.

Forgot to mention that last week's performance was a real confidence booster for training. Squeezed out a 13.1 miler on Friday in 1:53:42. Sub-1:50 here I come!

Thanks Chris.

By the way, you may have noticed that OC has a new medal this year. Run a half/full after Surf City, get the "Double Down" medal. Might sign up depending how I feel after LA.

<<-- Wondering if this noob can handle two marathons 8 weeks apart. Recipe for disaster?

As long as the first doesn't beat you up too much and requires weeks of recovery, I think you could def handle it. I would suggest picking one as your A race to push hard, and the other as a long training run. Or hell...just race both. \:D

This is my new favorite piece of gear. Been using it on all my runs, both trail and road. Fits perfectly in the small of my back and it doesn't move.
