I'll be fucking so pissed if this happens (increase). I'm on the edge of buying one but it's been slightly delayed because of my leg. Market has been so shitty (crappy houses) over the winter and it's just starting to get some decent houses in the market.

my dad is working with some guys on the side in the jamestown, ny area. basically these guys buy foreclosed homes for 8k-15k - fix them up and rent (to buy) them out or sell them straight up, you don't need banks/mortgages in the USA either. good coin, must be nice.

That house was underpriced for a bidding war. It's over 3000 sq ft and updated. It might not be worth 1.2M buts it's definitely worth more than $850k.

It has nothing to do with whether I think it's worth $850k+. I have been eyeing at houses in Markham that are 2500-3000 sq ft, and they have been $800k-1M. This house is even bigger. People are clammoring for these, so clearly these houses are worth what people are willing to pay.
