yeah, that's the one thing we missed... well that and a motorcycle, but it seems as though it would have been the wrong time to be riding a motorcycle in NYC.

Getting to be Eagle Season at Conowingo Dam. November is peak season, but there's a bunch that live there year round.

That Pro-100 deal has been online here and there. I got one at work just because it was such a hell of a deal. Have only done a couple of prints with it so far but like it. Came with a 13x19 pack of luster. Just got some Epson watercolor and an assortment pack of the HannahMontanaMuler fine art matte paper. It's fun to see my stuff on paper, but if I thought picking images for a portfolio could be difficult, picking print files in awful.

love it dude! did you get to drive it?
Thanks man, unfortunately no I didn't get to drive. I shot these stills piggybacked with a video production I was helping with, I grabbed these handheld in the 30 seconds of down time we had all morning lol.

Congrats! I need to start finding contests to submit to, haha. What particular contest was it that you won? it was the Adorama/Canon Summertime in NYC contest. i think it's the first one they did. i randomly saw the contest on my feed on the day of deadline and submitted it. there were about 300 or so entries, and the top 3 prizes received a 5D3, two 70Ds. plus they raffled off a 60D and a random P&S. pretty good odds and a great prize payout if you ask me, considering it was free entry. PDN contests get more exposure, but the prizes aren't as good and you're competing w/ a lot more people. oh yea...they also had a kickass Canon Pro-1 printer promo at the event. retail is $1000, but they were selling it for $300, plus a $200 mail in rebate. so you end up paying $100 shipped. so i bought one of those for a friend since i already have an epson. I hate you, but it's a jealousy hate. That's an awesome prize just for taking a photo having nothing to do with the contest.

For product photography I'd like to see a little larger depth of field, that is a little too thin for showing off a product that has depth in the photo (ie, showing it is round). Had it been a full frontal shot, the thin DoF works fine. Also, since I own both 100macro lenses from Canon, I'd expect it to be a little more sharp then it is.
The 100macro non-IS is tack sharp out to f22, the 100macro IS L is tack sharp to f11+ (I've only done to f11, but I'm guessing it goes to f22 as well as the nonIS).

Was set at f7.1, 1/30, 640 iso. I had it really close up, so the DOF was pretty thin.
