It's a pretty good time for sure. the only other time i'd been on a boat was my uncles catamaran as a really little kid, and i was scared half to death. wanted nothing to do with that thing. I shot these with my V1. Worked out great out here. But once again once they're scaled through flickr, they're losing a lot of the great sharpness and detail. Really a damned shame. Great photos
Wait'll I post my el mirage shots from before i left for FL. Really excited about them.

First go at shooting the Milky Way... the night started out not looking too promising, clouds rolled in, but i said fuck it, and drove out to a spot i found on google maps hoping for the best. this was about 45 minutes from the house and was pitch black. the amount of stars you can see with the naked eye in the middle of no where is breathtaking.
taken with everyones favorite pancake lens!

sick, i really want to try that. the night before the landspeed race would have been the best, no moon showing, but i couldn't spend the night out. The night before the next race in July though, I'm planning on camping. I'll go find a spot on the other side of the hills along the lakebed and hang out for the night. It'll be about 2 or 3 nights into a new moon, so hopefully it won't kill it for me.

I wish when I went to Joshua tree it was that dark... then again it was cold as balls out enough to freeze my water.... LOL but heres my attempt as well as something like that  I was sad that in the middle of fiddling in the darkness i set my photos after this into jpg.... and not raw.... FML

I think this is my best macro bug shot so far, in terms of getting the focus. I wish it was on a different plant/flower b/c its so busy.
Using a 100mm macro and the extra working distance (vs 50mm which I had been using) definitely helps.

finally learned the right size to post pics! LOL anywho being down here in the rio grande valley in the southern tip of texas there isnt much to shoot, but i was told of this place by some local people.... google mapped Hildago Old pumphouse sweet im about .5 miles from the border no prob.... get there.... ummm no im about 100 yards from it lol.... me and my buddy get to the dock on the water to get a nice some shots and chill in the shade.... 10 mins later we heard noises in the shrubs... holy shit 30 immigrants are running from the wall no more than 15 feet from us... I highlighted where the ran up the embankment and by the time they got to the lil road about 6 border patrol cruisers rolled up on em. when they ran pass us i was shitting bricks thinking fuck im hella outnumbered lol. it happened so quickly i couldnt get a shot in lol... 4 of them jumped back into the bank trying to hide but dogs were unleashed to find the rest of them.
