Moved to the clubhouse tonight and set up my equipment to do some test shots of the interior, plus some portraiture. My 5 y/o son took this picture (yesterday he told me he wanted to be a professional photographer). It's a little out of focus because I tried to teach him how to focus it by pressing the shutter release on the remote, he tended to hold it down on shutter on burst....not bad though. Still have to move the lights a little more, ran out of time... tomorrow I get my light meter, Thursday I get my backdrop kit... moving forward

Yea these kits are hand made and not perfect lol, but the story behind them is pretty cool. The shop that makes these kits was destroyed twice this winter, once by a snow cave in and again by the earthquake. Also, the founder of the company passed away suddenly in late 2010 IIRC. So these are pretty much the only two you'll be seeing anytime soon. There is one other red one in Japan, which is also very nice. Super Street featured it like a year ago.

All three are very different, which is cool. The red one is SR powered, the silver one has a triple carb L28 Hakosuka motor, and Hakosuka seats and dash swap... And the brown USDM car has a open header LS6. LOL, it sounds like a god damn NASCAR.

Yup, this was the NE corner of the top of Fed. Hill by the museum. We should do an alcoholic brunch or something sometime fo' sho'! What what, CSI meet.

tried to change it up a bit yesterday. wish we had some more variety in aircraft.

I use shooting the same thing over and over again as practice and trying new things. I mean in the 6000 or so shots I've taken 3500 I believe are paintball and 1500 or so are from the zoo. Hell for me to finally get good moon shots, it took probably several hundred shots to get there and a lot of those were just playing around with camera settings. But I look at what I did well, what I did bad, and everything else as a learning tool and try new things the next time. Of course if I find something that I really have to get a picture of I revert back to what I feel most comfortable with, but then go back to trying new things.
The photos you're sharing keep getting better and better IMO so even though you're getting bored, you're at least getting way better (again from what you've been posting).
Keep it up and now that spring/summer is coming you should be able to find new things to shoot (car shows, car races, air shows, etc...). I'm sure there has to be some big air show in your area this summer, so use your airport shots and go to the air show with that knowledge. Hell you've motivated me to go down to my airport in the next week to start learning that.

Do searches on Flickr and DeviantArt for the type of photography you're interested, and get some new ideas.

Yeah our big show is July 23-24th. Actually it's in Dayton, but it's huge since Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is near by. Actually I need to go up to the Air Force Museum there - that's always got sweet stuff there (and in the future I believe is getting a Space Shuttle).
