Mountains aren't straight, don't use them to try and level off a pic..
Bridge is level, that's all that matters.
Correct- that's why I'm saying not to level it any more... The mountains naturally lean right, the sky is leaning left. To me it's a perfect balance.
I posted this tater pany a page ago...I still struggle to believe it's level. I just don't really have a strong line to use.
Yours is definitely leaning right some... but it works because of way too much foreground IMO. If anything I'd crop the bottom 15-20% and add a tiny bit more sky... But it works for me as you have it.

Thanks a lot guys! I appreciate all the critiques. Tyler, I have not tried to tilt the other way. Reason being is the un-cropped image is level. I can see what you are saying about it tilting, but to me, I feel the clouds give that illusion and if I were to compensate for that, it would make the bride not level and that would be worse.
OB1, to me, since the river is flowing left to right and "stepping" down that direction, if you try to compensate for it, the reality of the direction the river flows may not work any longer if that makes sense. I don't know that I agree with Murder on cropping up the bottom though as the rocks bottom left would be to close to the edge of the frame work me and it agitates my eyes. I'd suggest if you were ever back there again, try just the river and not the hill on the right. I tried cropping it with my hand and I like that better. The space on the right feels empty and somewhat disjointed with the rest of the image. Kind of like it was two stitched together. Do you mind if I post the crop I tried of it?

I think your bridge photo is perfect as is - no need to tilt.
I agree with cropping the hill - looks way better... My problem isn't really with the foreground really, it's with the foreground and lack of sky. Since he doesn't have the extra sky, the foreground is a little too much but by cropping the hill, it works as taken... As shot and posted here, it works I just feel it could be composed differently when shot to be much better.

Ahhhhh now there is context to the landscape....hmmmm plot thickens :). Maybe a change in orientation? I was looking purely from a visual perspective, sorry.

Well, that half mtn is a landmark and staple though.
If that's the case, then walk to your left some and take a picture of the mountain with the river in front of it if you want to have both together. Side by side as you had it just sort of became meh.
I think I was looking at the river as the vocal point...

Quoting again since this is such an awesome pic. My contribution...My son "hanging" out in the roughness that is downtown Detroit (actually we were waiting for our car at the valet lot, across the auto show). Used bleach bypass filter from nik color efex pro, and did minor tweaking to saturation/contrast

doing some pixel level editing on a beauty shoot I did last week.
5 hours in, and I am into the first hour of dodge and burn (so basically the 4 previous hours were on the 2 layers below.
Beauty is something I don't mind shooting; hate the editing, but love the final result.
At no point in my workflow for an image like this will I be doing ANY skin blurring. That shit should never be used

phone pic of a pic.
this is the second picture i've printed with costco's canvas printing service. pretty impressed. turn around time is just a couple days. comes fedex'ed packed really well.
this one is a 20x30. still need to hang it, but i need a smaller lamp cause i'd have to hang it up pretty high with that lamp.

Don't let the software be your crutch.

Thanks. And your advice is 100% on point. This was the 1st time I opened up PS since my last PS edits over a week ago. I just thought that this pic would really look cool with the bleach bypass filter. In the mean time, I just gotta keep shooting!

No, but I'm thinking of setting up the camera in the kitchen right now!

I think cropping it makes it look ever better, seeing those tiny nozzles in the stove is neat
I didn't do anything but crop this, camera was a bit close to the frame @ 10mm!

I believe what he's doing is a dodge and burn kind of layer to even out the luminosity and make the skin more even that way. It's not a huge difference but if you look closer you'll definitely see it.
