Yeah I totally don't see that. I mean I went after Scott pretty hard for his college work and he's been totally cool about it.

And I like the fact that the helmet shot is cutoff both top and bottom.

And I like the fact that the helmet shot is cutoff both top and bottom.


Maybe it's just that in the past I've seen irritation and resistance to accept constructive criticism on his photos (color, exposure, etc), coupled with the sarcastic response to my not liking the bottom cut off. I dunno.

Ah well. \:\)

Flying away from me, started coming at me and then i sort of contorted to get it above me as it flew over me if that makes sense. this plane was taking off.

^ yup \:\) although since getting back into the game i havent been able to get any decent shots from there. every time i go the damn light is opposite what i want. either they are taking off or landing when the lighting doesnt match lol. oh well, ill keep trying \:\)

You had to search to find a detail worth mentioning in an otherwise meh photo.

My immediate guess was you thought I sounded like a dick to Andrew/buttpistols and you decided to find something to criticize in the pic I posted afterwards to take me down a couple of notches. I don't believe that pic is particularly comment worthy one way or the other otherwise.

But as far as being a dick goes, I don't feel I was out of line with Andrew - I see no reason to pull punches with minor criticisms (that I found the left side of the frame distracting) of photographers who are better than me (which the rest of the frame clearly shows).

On the other hand, if for some reason the cropping really did ruin an otherwise pleasant shot for you, then I apologize for my assumptions.

whoa...what's going on here? i had no qualms about the criticism. i actually agreed w/ your comments about cropping the left side. i just forgot to do it. \:\)

at the same time, looking back, your reaction to CB's cropping critique of your photo did seem to come out of nowhere. then it all kinda blew up from there of course, it's harder to interpret emotions in text form.

Stunning picture! I do see a few water spots in the top right sky \:\( .

Did you run a gradient across the whole picture or are the bricks on top of the courthouse really darker then the bottom?

Thanks. A dirty lens + f/18 aperture will do that. I'm sure the horizon is off, etc.

I liked the above image because of the two guys and a dog waiting to cross the street.

No gradient , just the sun setting.
