Since Duc was posting moving panning shots. I took this in Vietnam sometime last year.

I attended a sunrise photo op at Arlington National Cemetery yesterday morning. I had never been to the grounds before. It's tough to not use words like amazing, awesome, incredible etc. because describing the grounds that way feels callous or disrespectful, but it is a very powerful experience being there.

Chased Norfolk and Western J-Class #611 through Northern Virginia yesterday. This is, I believe, the last surviving example of this style locomotive.

I only wish it was a little off center to the left, as a nitpick. But otherwise I love it.
I need to go out "training". Planespotting is a lot further for me now.

I've thought about it, and have been meaning to catch the AK Railroad passenger train when it goes through Denali, but I've missed it most every time I've been down that way.

I love panos.. What program do you use to stitch them together? (I just use Photomerge via Bridge)

I dunno what I'm doing wrong but mine seem so fisheye'd after I've merged them. Maybe I gotta stop taking pics @ 10mm

That shot is 5 shots at I think around 40mm with the 24-70. I tried with the 11-24 @11mm but the distortion was too much and I got a lot of the uninteresting grassy knoll foreground (Federal hill for anyone that knows Baltimore). I wanted to keep the focus on the buildings and all, rather than a big sky and grassy foreground.
I ended up having to crop to get the rectangular image. Content aware filling of the incomplete parts of the canvas looked wonky so I just clipped it. There was a slight oval area of blank canvas on the edges as a result of perspective correction.

So I shot this the same morning I shot my pano above. This building is iconic in Baltimore. Its the Domino Sugar factory and is prominent part of the downtown skyline. A local weatherman shared the pic on his FB page and its gone local-viral with over 1300 likes and 60-some shares after 4 hours. Pretty exciting! Already have 2 orders for this and I am waiting on sizing info for a print of my pano! People really love this local stuff!
