Looks like he's defending his territory. Mockingbirds can be quite territorial especially during fall and winter.

This one is also for Scott. It turns out the male didn't like me talking to his chick. I have a couple that I am working on in LR3 that should be ready soon. He is making his way through the trees and I am battling bright spots.

The birds around here know I'm putting out food. There are over 22 mourning doves in this frame alone.
I bought a $6 bird feeder and put it halfway out in my yard this afternoon. There were birds fighting over it when the sun went down. Great investment, but I don't see this feeder lasting after anything bigger than a dove gets hungry.
