Take note if that relay and the rest of them are Siemens brand, it'll say right on the top of the relay. Siemens relays from that era have an unusually high failure rate. The Dodge/Chrysler replacement was a Tyco brand relay.
Wiring problems are a pain in the ass alright. They were my specialty on the 35 year old C-130's I used to work on. I once spent two eight hour shifts all by myself shooting wires with the ohm meter and scouring over schematics to find a wiring fault. Only to figure out that the plane had just been in Depot maintenance in Georgia at which point they had left two canon plugs unplugged.
