multiple. the top 4 bursts are from a different time and composition, but from the same night.

I couldn't get high enough to capture most of the firework explosions, so I took some liberties on the composite.

At first I thought the top right corner could use a fireworks burst, but after looking at it for a minute, I think it looks more natural and less post-processed as it is.

In all seriousness, I'm very torn over that photo. Sometimes I love it and oftentimes I hate it. I'm not this wishy washy on any other shot I've taken either

I think it has to do with the colors. I want to play with those and try to get rid of this sickly color cast without really altering things too much.

I don't know that the color cast detracts from that photo--at least it doesn't for me. It's there, it's pretty obvious, but you could always wax philosophical and say that urban decay (credit that contest theme idea to X) and its symptoms (graffiti) are a societal sickness.

c/n: where you don't feel like returning to post process, explain away with flow'ry language

also, wow @ matt's and lafora's pix. perhaps i'll break my 3 day nophoto streak today

\:\( It's not a composite. I did have to work the shadows a lot to bring them back, maybe too much.

300 yards from my house. Tried to get closer after this shot, but the bird flew away.

Canon 300D, Sigma 50-500 @ 500mm, ISO200, F/6.3, 1/1250sec.

I would just knock it down 1-2 stops, but the colors are what they are and they're fine.

tough scene to get a balanced exposure - you did it good though. Might want to dodge the upper left if you ever print it to get the detail to match the upper right, but I like it.
