Its lame but whatever. \:\)

I've had a set of v8 springs on it from a 1977 (loaded) Mercury Comet that I drove for awhile in college but I digress...

Ever since then its sat up high in the front and generally looked kinda dumb, maybe people thought it was missing an engine or I was trying for the Gasser look.

So a guy at work told me that in the late 70s the gov't made minimum bumper height restrictions that the manufacturers got around by literally putting longer coil springs on the cars. So my Maverick has 1.5" too long of springs and it already rides horrible stiff, cutting them probably isn't an option.

Awhile back I was perusing Amazon and found the correct MOOG springs for $73 and put them on my wish list. I found the price has dropped to $65 so I couldn't resist and picked them up tonight. I'll probably cut a half coil or so just to give it a little stance.

In other news I'm hoping to be able to go "Denmah style" cheap 5.3L turbo with the car so I can finally complete the car AND send my kid to college (ever price out a nice stroker engine?)

I guess if there's a moral to my long winded story, check Amazon for car parts, you can get some pretty good deals.

Thanks brutha, my dad had ~5 of them so it was in my blood.

I bought it for $650 a million years ago and have about $5500 in it so far including paint, upgraded suspension, brakes, 9" rear end, etc. Mainly just needs some interior work, rims and tires and, oh yeah, a new engine... \:\)
