Thats the order if you're doing a swirl remover, polish, sealant, and carnauba. However, if you only have one wax, there is going to be no benefit to using all those pads. You really need to get a dedicated swirl remover, polish, sealant, and carnauba for it to work out best.

Go to autogeek.net and order Poorboy's SSR2.5 to use with your Orange pad, Poorboy's SSR1 to use with your white pad, Poorboy's Exp Sealant to use with your black pad, and Mother's Carnauba to use with your blue pad.

I picked up what waxes I could locally. Best I could find..a few I had prior.

90% of the stuff is bran new..here is a complete list w/picture. Assuming the Porter arrives today...

Here is what I plan to do, maybe someone could double check my list/order/products to make sure I am on the right track. I am no n3wb to waxing/claying...just new to a buffer & multi-step process.

2 bucket washing (dishsoap) w/new sponge.
Dry w/absorber.
50/50 mix of water/rubbing alcohol use Mothers Clay Bar.
Wipe down car again w/the 50/50 mix to get all the residue off.
Orange Pad & Turtles Polishing Compound or Meguirs Scratch X ??
Wipe off w/Microfiber towel.
White Pad & Meguirs Professional Series Show Car Glaze.
Wipe off w/Microfiber towel.
Black Pad & Liquid Glass.
Wipe off w/Microfiber towel.
Blue Pad & Meguirs NXT Tech Wax.
Buff out w/orangepad covered w/microber bonnet.

Clean Windows/Tires/Interior?

Well??

Use scratch x with the orange pad first, its better to try a combo that will be too weak than one that will be too strong. Also, when you clay- just use the soapy water from your car as it will be a better lubricant. Just do the liquid glass OR the NXT, they are the same thing, and Id recommend the NXT personally. The one product Ill STRONGLY recommend which you can get locally is Mother's Carnauba Wax. It smells like cherries, so you'll know you got the right thing. Its a good, thick Carnauba which has a good run-off factor too it (how well water runs off), and even after weeks, a quick mist with a quik detailer makes it look good as new. If you have any questions, you know where to ask...

Ok,I'll try the scratch X first..

As for the Mothers, I couldn't find it..

Looked @ Walmart, Auto Zone and Advanced Auto...

No luck, so I am going to stop @ a detailing place after work..but no promises..

If not, whats my next best option?

Meguiar's Yellow Carnauba isn't half bad. Sorry I didn't respond earlier, our internet was out at home. :-(

Looks like you have a decent head start. Have either of you tried the Sonus brand? I just picked up their swirl remover and I love it. I'm using similar pads, 6.5" with a backing plate.

I usually start off with the Meg's professional light/medium/heavy cut cleaner, then the Sonus SFX2 or Meg's #9 Swirl remover (if needed). I'll follow up with the Meg's #7 glaze and a lighter pad. After that, I'll seal it with a nice carnuba wax. Meg's #26 works good, but for nice cars, I'll use Klasse (lasts long) and then a finishing coat of P21S. I actually REALLY REALLY REALLY recommend that stuff, it's well worth the money for a finishing wax. Here's a link to some of the products:

The pads I use
http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-sfxpad-kit.html

P21S
http://www.autopia-carcare.com/p21-127.html

Sonus Brand (made by autopia)
http://www.autopia-carcare.com/index.html

They are a new favorite site of mine, as they carry Sonus, Meguiar's, Klasse, P21S, Stoner, 303 Products, Clay Magic, and even sell Porter Cables! The customer service was also good...

The thing I would do is dump the dish soap... You don't want to use that. At the least pick up a cheap auto soap. I Like the NXT Soap... YOu can also use that for the bar, but I prefer to use the Quick Detailer.

I disagree. He is wanting to do a full detail from scratch. Odds are, he has built up swirled wax over the years by doing it by hand, and if he in fact wants to start entirely over, the dish soap will remove all of the old build-up. So for people doing an all new detail for the first time, I recommend using dish soap; but for someone who cleans their car on a regular basis, you're right, use regular car wash, (but not ones with wax in them as they streak sometimes).

Sorry, but I have to disagree. This is a myth spread by zaino that you have to remove wax for a better shine... Or that wax builds in layers over the years. There are mineral spirits in wax that allow it to be soft and spreadable on to the finish. These spirits also strip the wax, so there really isn't a "build up of wax." plus it serves no useful purpose other then working great to remove the wax from the applicator.

I see what you're saying, but what it all comes down to is preference. I never use it anymore, but if I all along was detailing the wrong way, and I wanted to start with a clean slate, I would use dish soap. The fact of the matter is that it wont HURT your car's paint. Granted, it isn't as soft as legit "car wash", but if he wants to use it this one time, would be the best time. From here on out he needs to use an actual car wash.

I'm w/you..

Dish soap for the first wash of the season helps get all the road grime/grease off.

The paint actually looks dull when you are done..so I know it cleans it all off.

I got the thing done..

Probably spent 9 hrs waxing and all..

Car not only looks amazing, but feels soooooo smooth. Everyone I showed was absolutly amazed...

Here are a few pics of mine using Pinnicle Souvern Paste Wax. This stuff is just awesome. Makes the paint look so wet and reflective. The pics don't do it justice.

Ha ha...I was cheatin..lol..

The hood/top/bumpers/sides are all mint. The top of the trunk & wing has what looks like acid rain etched into the clear...

I figure some wet sanding should relieve that..then re-apply waxes/sealants.

For real, try rubbing distilled vinegar on it. It works a lot on etch marks caused by hard water and acid rain.

Id try and use a spong if you can, or a cotton towel. Then use a MF towel to wipe off with. That WILL remove all of your previous wax, polish, etc.

No, the vinegar will remove the etching too, but the wax at the same time, aka you're gonna have to re-wax that shizznick!
