Is what I am currently using right now at home.
Excellent technical support, and APP integration exceptionally with iOS which I am able to replay video feeds via my iPhone or iPad.
2TB 8 Camera setup around the house and in the garage.

I cant remember exactly how much I sent on the setup
I think it was around the 1300ish or so
2TB DVR with 24" Touch Screen monitor (IMO useless since you can view everything remotely 8 wired cameras on top of that additional wiring going to the back yard
But it looks like prices went down

sorry the other good thing is POE, no extra power cord. With the adaptor you still need power to the camera
Oh crap you dont, nice! http://www.cctvcamerapros.com/Cat-5-Video-Balun-p/balun-pv5.htm

You don't even need those ones.
A balun runs on 1 pair, so you have 3 pair on the cat5 to do what you want.
You can buy the $5 a pair baluns and wire the other spares for power.

How exactly do you 'run' cables, be it cat5, baluns, USB cable, etc? Cut into the drywall 'n shit?
I've got a couple of wireless IP cameras (1 USB cable for power), and while they're HD and all... They only record to an SD card for now. They're highly portable obviously ...
I want to supplement my setup with a 'smart' security system, one of those DIY ones, but it doesn't have some of the 'old-school' parts to them, such as:
- beeping when a door opens (i.e. door sensor) - keypad
The ones I've seen have a door sensor, but only for alarm. (i.e. they're run on a tiny 3v battery, so to beep every time the door opens would chew thru the battery They also don't have a keypad, foregoing that for 'smarter' methods such as phone and/or keyfob integration. (I want keypad + phone + keyfob)
