still too high.
it was 1:04 earlier in the week agreed. to the OP - not sure if you've been paying attention to the price of oil - we should be paying a lot less. But thanks to the idiots in toronto who voted for liberals AGAIN who quickly forgotten the HST added onto fuel and among the 'good things' liberal had done for us. I wouldnt exactly get all excited over 107.9/L as the oil companies are making a killing right now. I can pretty much promise if the price of oil drops down to 40 bucks a barrell (hypothetically speaking), we'd still be paying high price for gas. So pardon me for not exactly jumping in joy. not to mention the fuckhead harper who curbed the competition in the oil industry in canada. I'll admit that I did vote for blue on a federal level, but whatever, they're all the same.

google the following
-supply and demand -refining capacity -taxes & tariffs
yes, refiners are making a killing but placing this on the liberal government is a little short sighted.

In his defense supply has increased and demand on a global scale is fairly stagnant or decreasing. Refining capacity, to my knowledge hasn't seen any changes, and lastly taxes are proportional to commodity pricing, tarrifs may vary between fixed/variable. FX appears to be the only factor working against CAD gas price decreases since oil is traded in US dollars, take that into account and we still aren't seeing the decreases that we should.
Enlighten me if I missed something as I am sure you would have more insider info and I am curious.

gas was the largest factor in my vote? wut?
no. I dont need to paint a pretty picture on what was my largest factor in voting. I was merely pointing out some of the reasons on the gas price is high. You should be more scared about the folks in toronto who voted for the liberals BACK into power despite of their long list of fuck-ups.

Nahhhhhh. My point really was: if one has a gas guzzler, do not complain. it was a conscious decision to get the gas guzzler. embrace your decision XD

sure it does...
since the HST came into place, the gas tax is almost at 40% now. it'll just keep going up and up and up as long as the liberals continue to tax and spend at their expense.

Meh at the end of the day it doesn't matter how much gas is if you need it. Don't like the price, Start your own well? i kinda agree. gas goes up by 10cents, 20 cents, even 30 cents wtf you gonna do? i'm still driving my car. I might agree with you if we didnt have a circus for public transit. "wtf you gonna do" ... food prices up too. "wtf you gonna do" ...housing prices are jacked "wtf you gonna do" ...daycare is fucked "wtf you gonna do" . ...and most peoples wages have stagnated in comparison to all these rising costs.(There is lots of data to back that up.)
So now what? Now you have people carrying record level debt. And its not because they are beating each other up to buy dynex tv's. People should be outraged and speak up about the ridiculousness of this. Not just quietly take it up the ass. People arent saving much (if at all either). Also, there arent many pensions around and OAS isnt enough to live on. So wtf is it going to do to the "system" when these people retire?! Despite you needing to bootstrap yourself, we are still all in this together.
Thats fine if you make enough money for this not to be an issue. But for most of the population these are very important issues. What are drivers behind all this? Global economy yada yada and all that. All of the above, thats fine. But you can't let things get out of hand for the general populaton.
I feel its like when some of you get to a certain income level where some of these things are less of a concern you (forget and) completely become decoupled from reality and figure its easy for others to reach the level you may be at. When that is not the case. Prices(as a whole) need to be kept in check relative to incomes or else this place becomes not very desirable/affordable to live(we are there already).
The reality is most people dont make 6 figures, so while in itself it may not be a lot these days(its not really), its still much better off than the majority.

Meh at the end of the day it doesn't matter how much gas is if you need it. Don't like the price, Start your own well? Of course it doesn't matter how much it is until it affects you at your given income level...until then not your problem If it was $10/L and your M3 became an obsolete vehicle because no one can afford to run it then proceed to tell me about it not mattering and about your *well* l e l or will it matter then? philosoraptor would like to know
Like I said find your own oil field mmmkay. Like really what are you going to fucking do if gas did end up being $10/L? Obviously I would not have the M anymore, but at the end of the day I still need a fucking car to get to work. Stop trying to twist shit all the time.
