so I wanna go to Vegas at the end of Jan for the weekend...3-4days tops. I don't know jack about travelling, what should I be looking for and how do I get a good price? what exactly is considered a good price?
Jerry Seinfeld is doing a show at Caesars Palace Jan 30-31 and I'd prolly check that out.
Thoughts/inputs....

look on westjet's website. They should have decent specials to vegas for the time you want to go. (probably 5 to 6 bills for flight & hotel for 3 nights)
For the first time being there, try staying on the Strip....ideally the middle. Ie. Paris, Bellagio, Venetian etc. I was there in May and had a blast. The buffets are good. $40 bones is the norm since food court will run you like 20 bucks. I checked out Picasso restaurant at The bellagio and came away with a $450 bill for 2.
If you have time, go see the Grand Canyon. West Rim is 3 to 4 hrs. East Rim is like 7 or so. Its pretty amazing.
Go check out a few shows too. They amount of $$ they spend on the stage/set is 2nd to NONE and its worth the price of admission.

Heading to Vegas on the 10th. Westjet had fare sales and got ours for $99 each way (came to $330 tax in) not sure on prices now.
As for accomodations, definitely stay near/on the strip as it'll make getting around easier.
Last minute deals are there to find as well.
I just hope it gets a tad warmer when we arrive! It snowed there the last time I went 2 February's ago.

Went to Vegas a few years back and had a blast too. Stayed at the Boardwalk Hotel (no longer there). It was close to the end of the strip (by Monte Carlo). Saw a few shows that were free but also paid an arm and a leg to see Cirque's "O". I would advise if you are really planning to go and want to see Seinfeld to grab the tickets online.
I saw the O too. The stage/ set up was totally amazing! Definately one of the better shows.

I just took the airport shuttle to and from the hotel. It was like $8 / way.
Vegas is a cool place. You can make a day trip just to make your way through the different hotels and check out the interior and stuff. Most of the newer hotels on the strips is ballar.
OP, if you ever feel like having a semi cheap meal, go have the clam chowder at the New York, New York food court. I was in Boston in thxgiving and their clam chowder was pretty close.
My favorites LOL @ Vegas are the mexican dudes with the clicky cards.

oh yah... dont be a newb and book with an expedia package there. book your flight thru expedia or whatever and then book your hotel directly thru the hotel you want to stay at. Why would you do this you might ask? Lets say you end up gambling a alot. And want a discount on your hotel room. If you booked a package.. CANT DO IT.... So if you book your room directly with them, and you want a jew discount on your room.. They can give it to you no problems
also when you get off the plane and are taking a cab to you're hotel. tell them not to take the highway(most cabs will try and rip ya off and take it MUCH longer) and will save you about 10 bucks a way
hope this helps need any more advice on vegas dont mind giving me a PM
i forgot about expedia....i checked redtag.ca but westjetvacations was a bit cheaper for the same shit.
