Good Catch on Enterprise between Warden and Kennedy has good boil seafood and decent beer section.
Steaks, Peter's Steak House on hwy 7 between Markham and McCowan is solid.

+3 on Peter's
Wife's extended family owns it.
On the topic of restos, is there a half decent Shawarma place in Markham? I think I've tried just about most here and everything is subpar. Any suggestions?

My bad, should've clarified...good Shawarma in Markham.
Scarborough has good stuff, looking for something local to me.

There was one in Stouffville on Main Street right at the train tracks. Forgot the name, maybe they survived COVID?!?!?
Been there, below average.
Time to open Russian Shawarma in Markham?

OP, also forgot my favourite joint in Markham is Folco's by my house. That's my go to with the wife, great vibe/value, awesome food. Last time I was there late 2019 the food wasn't good (hopefully it was just that day), but for the last 10 years it's been solid. Going again next week, they have great outdoor seating now with the covid allowances.

Peters was fan-fucking-tastic. Very old school. Servers all wearing tuxedos and great service. I had the ribeye and she had the prime rib. Thanks for the recommendations. Wife loved it. Apparently the band KISS frequents the place.
The following is from someone who doesnt know much at the GTA burbs LOL...
We stayed at the Marriot at 407/Warden. Nice hotel but with covid the services were basically zero. No room service, pool and gym limited hours and capacity. Couldnt even get a wine glass in our room.
I dont think Ive ever seen so many white Bimmers or Mercs either. Fucking everywhere. Saw a ton of Porsches too. Also many many stanced/riced/winged/etc WRXs, and FT86 twins.
Lots of nice looking restaurants in the area too. Ive never been to Markham and it seems like a pretty coll place to live. Driving east on 7, its older then I thought and kinda reminded me of certain areas of Hamilton or St Ktts. I thought Markham was a "new" city based on all the developing along the 407. We drove north on Brock Rd to wear her shoot was and it was beautiful. Rolling hills and farms.
Also walking around with a 6' blonde certainly gets attention in a sea of 4' Asians lol.
We were also in Pickering for a few hours. It seems to have no redeeming qualities at all lol except being conveniently located to nicer places.

Glad you enjoyed it.
Markham is a great little city, I am obviously biased
I live 2 mins away from Peter's.
Did you go to Unionville? There are a lot of great trails all around, kid friendly, lots of nature and a nice mix of old and new. Every part of Markham is also very different and unique in its own way.
4' Asians are a thing of the past, has anyone else noticed all kids 15-16 regardless of race are like 6' now. WTF

^^, lmao, yes pretty much all spot on man. that is cool re. KISS...wow.
and you were in far east markham which is the older part. also it's where the last few rare white folks live, but now being taken over by the rest of the browns and some asians. as you move west in markham from mcCowan to kennedy to warden to woodbine, it gets newer/newish. the newer areas being the very north part. most of it is pretty developed well over 25+yrs now, even their city hall shows its age. most of north east markham is brown folks now tho.
the cars you stated are just the tip haha...that's the norm around markham for the past 25 yrs or so as well. everything you mentioned and more. any new pricey german/jap or range they will have, matched up to the latest cell phone. be it startak from back in the day to latest $$$ iphone or s20plussuperduperdingdong phone. if you go hang in the condos at yonge/finch area in north york it's even crazier cars.
marriott ain't what it used to be (depends i guess where/what level you go to). but yeah as expected per your comments. i was just in ottawa for 4 days and stayed at the courtyard marriott in the middle of Byward Market and it was the same. but pool was fine just book your 45mins time slot ahead of time, kids enjoyed it. but yeah you had to pre-ask for service always even room cleaning, fucking annoying.
vas, haha true about the kids man, all tall and um yeah not sure what they be eating, even the girls....... lol.
unionville always nice/classic - man i recall buying skis at old firehall before it turned to a chocolate place after the fire.
