Ontario drivers can now carry proof of automobile insurance on their smart phones or other mobile devices.
The change took effect Thursday, giving motorists an option in addition to keeping the traditional paper “pink card” from their insurance company in their wallets or elsewhere in their vehicles.
yup, easier just to keep the paper slip in the car once it's mailed to me than to one day have to rifle through my phone trying to find the image from months ago if I ever need to show it.
My friend bought his fishing liscense online from his phone and the temp one was digital But then they mailed him a card. Seems backwards. Whatever keeps them union jobs rolling i guess.
People always have the card in their cars..but not everyone has a valid one that hasn't expired. Unless insurance companies send the new card automatically to your email, not sure this new policy will help anyone.
don't get me started on fishing licences. the canadian tire in hastings ont that i've been buying my licence from for 30 years all of a sudden decides not to sell them anymore even tho they even sell live bait and everything fishing related. tried to buy it online and of course it didn't work.
