So... who's working from home today? I ended up turning it around back home and notified the boss that I'll be working from home today. WAY too slippery out west.

School buses were cancelled today so WFH by default. Wasn't too bad dropping the kids off but I hit up a home depot afterwards and got some salt for the aftermath later today.

Roads were empty. Good for me. Got to work normal time and got to drive the speed limit if not a few over.

Shoveled just now, I think this is the first time in my long life of shoveling where it felt like I was shoveling sand. Very strange accumulation on the ground.

I won't get a chance to shovel until after work but I remember once when it had hailed and it was like shoveling small pieces of broken glass.

i paid the neighbourhood crackhead $20 to shovel my driveway.

do you guys have one of these guys? we nicked named him squirrel man (put a caribbean accent on that) he rents out the basement in one of the big houses behind mine. nice dude, feeds the squirrels and ducks at the pond nearby. looks like he has done some meth in his life and has no teeth..or max 2 teeth lol. i have a friend who turns out rented his basement to him way back before i moved to maple.

but dude will do odd jobs around the house for me. cut the grass if i'm too busy, shovel and salt the driveway for me if i'm at work, will bring in my recycle and green bin for me, and helped with clean up or moving dirt when my cousin and i were doing the interlock. every now and then if i order food or something i'll order something extra for him so that he can eat because he doesn't cook i think, and he was happy for some of my old clothes to do work in.

i was driving down the street and saw him wearing a shirt with "EMERGENCY" down the sleeve and was like wtf?

Everyone freaked the fuck out for nothing. Schools closed because of some snowfall and a bit of freezing rain. It was nowhere near what we got the other week.
