My mother's Android tablet had died and I'm thinking of getting her an iPad. Is there anything to know about where to go for one? I doubt there is much of a price difference on these from store to store, but thought I'd ask in case anyone knows where to get say a previous model for slightly cheaper than the latest and greatest.

You a Costco member? They have a few options in store and online.

BD sales would be your second best bet.

Yea I'm a Costco member, I checked their website and their cheapest iPad is $510, my mom definitely doesn't need that. Perhaps there's a better offering in store.

Not much cheaper in-store. They had the mini4 for a while, however I think they cleared them out recently.

Why not look at the refurbs from Apple. They are perfectly fine and come with a 1 year warranty.

I have one Im selling.

12.9" iPad Pro, probably about a year old. Gently used by the wife for school/work/movies. Mint condition. I still have the box and all the stuff for it too.

I actually thought about that. The only issue is that its now going to be a gift to my mom FROM my dad. I doubt he'll want to give her a refurb, but I'll tell him.

Rogers seems to have the 32GB 6th gen iPad for $349 (and the 32 GB 5th gen for $359 )

Aside from the plain white box, you would never know it was a refurb. Hell I trust Apple refurbs more than their nib stuff as the refurbs go through extensive testing. But I know what you mean. The stigma of refurb.

So apparently "Buy on no term" means you have to add it to a plan. Minimum $10 per month for 24 months (ontop of the #349)

Apple refurb is the best option price wise at $359 but I won't get it til after Christmas. I like how my dad tasked me with this just a few days before Christmas.
