Any thoughts or recommendations?
I bought my pops an android box last year for kodi and whatever other shit is on there but it's obviously shit and only works 10% of the time or I need to bring it to somebody to update whatever services it's searching for movies/tv shows.

I've done a bit of reading and it seems that if you actually pay, the service is much better.
So any recommendations for an IPTV service that will work well in Canada, or even just your thoughts on the pros/cons/alternatives?
Ultimately I'd just like something that gets him new release movies with a bonus being access to international stations like all of the Italian RAI stuff.

I don't personally use it, but my co worker swears by vader's IPTV from RFD.

Not sure what my buddy has.

He gets all the new movies, porn, ESPN 1,2,3,4,5.... Canadian channels, American channels, foreign channels ....

$30-35 month? $130 a year? I just remember 3 being there.

It's cheap, but when you watch Sport channels, you notice it's streaming.
A bit of wait at start up, not as quick as cable TV navigating channels.

I donno... I think I prefer cable.

It's for my dad, only thing he really cares about is new release movies and Italian stations. Just trying to find an option that works 95% of the time.

So, back up a bit for the newb ... What *ideally* would you need to get this IPTV shit working?

I assume either a Windows PC, or some kind of Android box?

What do you run on Win/Android box to get these things streaming? Kodi??? (Last time I tried Kodi on PC, I was so fucking confused with which server to connect to for plug-ins, etc.)

I have a 10-yr old Win10 PC I could try running Kodi on again to see if IPTV pans out ... Spending $100/mth on Rogers is kinda cray.

I currently only really watch:
- CP24, CNN, A&E, Discovery, CTV/Global/etc for shows, tiny bit of FairChild if parents are here, little to no sports.

From the few that I have seen, they don't run Kodi as their interface. Yes Kodi might be installed on the box as an app, but the IPTV service doesn't run on it. Most boxes will run some form of Android but some require to run on a MAG box (versus a PC or standard Android/Linux box).

Buy an Android Box (I recommended BuzzTV XPL3000) and there is a built-in program for LiveTV (assuming you paid the IPTV provider for service) and you can stream all the channels.
There are Gold and Crown server. I am on Gold and my cousin is on Crown. Both servers are quite similar but not all channels are the same. If you want the Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) channels then go with Crown server.

Fairchild doesn't work on my cousin's box and I have confirmed with my supplier that the Fairchild, FairChild 2, FairChild West are not available on the server side.

You don't need KODI if you are paying for IPTV. KODI is for people who want to stream stuffs for free and don't have IPTV.

Currently using iptv (dreamlink t1 plus box) and usually subscribe to either Zeus iptv which he has a bunch of different services or iptvexpressreseller.

From all the services I've tried a like express the most.

The catchup feature is where it's at if you miss shows or sports.

Also some resellers have tests/trials where you can test the service out for 24hrs to see if you like it.

So .... FWIW, I paid a random Kijiji dude $150 via eInterac for some IPTV credits ... i.e. 25 months x 2000 channels, and access to a "reseller" panel.

Will be split up with a friend of mine, who did it for me the past year.

Confusing as fuck, insecure as fuck.
- He has my phone number, cuz I contacted him via WhatsApp
- He has my email address, and my name, cuz, my email has my name
- He has a 'paper trail' of me asking paying for illegal services
- He has my username/password on the 'reseller panel', cuz you can't fucking change the password on the site, only through him.

Shady as fuck. Now I don't know wtf to do. Will probably have to Zoom session with my buddy to walk me thru it in the next few days.

---

In summary:
- Service provider: OK2 (1 connection, 1 credit, 1 month)
- Paying $6.25/mth for 2000 channels of high-quality audio/video
- All my local Toronto/Ontario/Canadian channels I want, including Fairchild
- Video On Demand movies, and series/episodes
- Buffering: maybe once every 2-3 days. Buffering was terrible during new year's eve countdown.
- Box: Formuler Z8

Thinking of picking one up to replace my t1+ cuz I think it's going. Sometimes the channels freeze and doesn't respond to remote presses even though I see the led blink when I press the remote. And flat out doesn't respond and tells me to shut it down or wait.

I picked up the Formuler Z8 box off Amazon. $180 https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07N1X3WSS

The world of Android IPTV boxes is confusing and shady as fuck.

Formuler is the 'higher-end' brand of Dreamlink. Formuler is the one with apparently one of the best (if not THE besT) EPG, i.e Electronic Programming Guide.

Not sure if it's JUST Formuler boxes, but ... When people ask you for your MAC Address, give them the "ID" value, not the MAC Address... it'd be the wrong value.
I don't have much experience with other boxes. This thing works, it's solid. It can also do time-shift recording etc but that's too much for me.

how can i get cp24 and/or other canadian channels for free like global and CTV? thinking about cutting the cable, got a fire stick and between netflix, amazon and disney + that's pretty much all of the tv we watch. kid doesn't watch cable, nothing is ever good on it so we don't, just a few channels that i think we can purchase through amazon for a fraction of what cable costs me.

Just picked up another Android IPTV box: Formuler Z8 Pro. $160 cash in Markham.

I'm kinda/sorta/maybe getting the hang of setting up a box and credits. Still confusing as fuck, but it works, it doesn't hang/buffer that much, and overall, for $6/mth for 2000 channels, damn.

UPDATE: added more details on where I got it. I walked into their headoffice of http://www.dreamlink.ca ...

Negotiate with them, no tax, no receipt, etc... They're in Markham. They're the same people posting a number of Kijiji ads all the time (If you search their phone number, you'll find all the ads)

UPDATE 2: The channels have been hanging quite often, to the point it's annoying the wife. We'd have to go into the settings, disconnect and connect the server again.

The fix is to no longer have it on standby/on all the time, i.e. power it off every night (or have it auto-power off after x hours) .... Then on power ON, have it auto-launch the IPTV. Adds quite a bit of time to the loading in the morning, but it's pretty solid after.

So, OK2's been down for a few days (so is OK3), and a friend decided to pick up IPGuys, and he hooked me up with 1 credit.

Buffering on IPGuys is through the roof .... Shit just doesn't stream... (Could be the excess number of people now jumping on their service from OK2)

Looks like I'm gonna try Vader, Gold, or Crown ...

I bought a IPTV box from FMP. $200 for the box and can stream all the asian channels and local basic cable. Paid $100/yr to get all Canadian/US channels plus other countries. Been fine 99% of the time. Been using this for over a year.

Resurrecting this thread to see what people are using. I tried an IPTV service which offers local Canadian and US channels but was lacking when it came to the Video On Demand stuff (usually its the opposite). What IPTV services are you all using and are you happy with them?

OK2. Works for me. OK2 is relatively mature. They also support m3u. (i.e. the account wouldn't be locked to MAC address). VOD seems good enough for me. I've had OK2 black out on me during Olympics or other big sports - I turn on my VPN and it magically works again. (likely due to my ISP)

I've heard good things about OK3, and apparently the latest OK4 ... These services are distinct from each other as far as I understand..

I've been looking for good intel on what services offer what, but it's been difficult to find info. Like, I'd really love a dedicated group/channel for all AppleTV+ VOD, etc.

This is about the only forum worth going to for broad IPTV intel: https://www.satfix.to/forumdisplay.php?1571-IPTV-server-discussion

I use this random IPTV reseller for credits, just google his phone number: <289 - nine nine five - zero zero four zero>. (I know he blocked iamfob for being annoying asking questions and trials ) I purchase blocks of 25 to 50 credits, and I have a buddy buying blocks of 10 every month.

Here's my (basic) understanding of IPTV ...

[What]
- Term used for streaming of (typically) content from a TV services provider: sports, news, movies, CP24, etc.
- There are 'free' services, paid services, and pirate services. We're gonna focus on the pirate

[How]
- Pick up an Android box that's specific for IPTV. There are also some not-so-specific-to-IPTV boxes you can pick up, such as Amazon FireStick, etc.
- You can also use software on your mac/windows/iPad.

[Where]
- You google around, and there are tons of resellers who sell credits. 1 credit = 1 month of service.
- The more you buy, the cheaper they are. The newbie shit is usually $13-15 CAD/month.
- Some even bundle a box with 'lifetime free tv'
- My 'source' is some random dude off Kijiji I've been using for years; I'm paying $7.50/credit
- For newbie level: the admin will log into their web admin portal, and set you up with either a) a username/password (m3u approach), or b) ask you for MAC address on the hardware. You're then good for the duraiton
- For more advanced level, you pick up 25+ credits at a time, and you get access to a 'resellers panel' where you create/maintain the accounts etc. (For super advanced, you can also create 'reseller panels' for friends who have big families, so they manage it all themselves, etc.)
- When buying more credits, you run the risk of them disappearing, the server going bust, etc. Honour among thieves?? Dunno..

- Pretty much these pirate services are like drug dealers; it's hard to get a 'review' of who's good and who's not. You get an idea of what they offer. Most have channel listings, list how many VODs (videos on demand) they have access to, etc.

Setting up a brand new box and getting into the IPTV at first glance on your own was confusing as fuck for me... I know enough to get myself started now....

Considering I paid ~$100/month for Rogers TV ~2015, and now $7.50/mth ... Fuck I wish I jumped into this sooner. I started IPTV in .. 2019?

So would you need an individual box per tv in the house or does one cover multiple tvs?

Would you need individual accounts/credit's per tv in the household?

You need a separate device for each TV. Some smart TVs have apps that can be used to stream which alleviates the need for a separate device, but this depends on the source of service.

For the service that I'm currently with, you can use a Firestick, which depending on the mode you go with are relatively inexpensive. Some people are able to use their smart tvs. Alternatively you can use a Firestick and not pay anything, just leverage apps that will give you some/most of the same features as a paid service.

The service I'm currently with offers 2 (sometimes 3 connections if they're running a promo) for $80 CAD for the year. The live tv offering is great, but I'd like more VOD capabilities. For example, I'd like access to everything on Netflix. Yes they have Netflix content but not a lot.

Generally speaking, 1 box per tv, 1 credit/account per tv. (There are some pirate IPTV service providers that provide 2, 3, or even 5 instances per account)

There are 2 methods of authorizing with the pirate IPTV service:
- m3u (https://furball:clubsiroxxx@www.iptvservice.com/c:80)
- MAC IP address (http:www.iptvservice.com/c:80)

Some services provide m3u. I like this, because I can re-use the username/pass on a variety of platforms. My iPad, iPhone, home box, etc. (only 1 instance at a time)

MAC IP-locked services well .... your MAC address is your credentials, so can only use it on 1 box.

On top of all this, there are boxes that are being sold with 'lifetime' and/or '1-year' free service... I don't have much experience with these, but generally the software loaded locks you into that ecosystem, which could be small.

Would you need individual accounts/credit's per tv in the household?

On iPad/iPhone, I use 'GSE Smart IPTV' ... it's not great, but it works.

On Android, I'd really want to try this one: https://www.formuler.tv/mytvonline-plus

I split this with a friend. Software is installed on a Fire Stick. Works great so far. I think I pay about $10 a month.

Here's my 'reseller panel' on OK2.

- 'Lines' are aka m3u: username/passwords I can set up. Here I have 1 account expired (a friend), and for my box which will expire in 7 days.
- Under MAG devices, those are aka the MAC IP-locked devices.

I create a Line, or a MAG device, enter the info, and select how many credits I want to assign to it. And done.

9 credits I can assign. I'll need to re-up soon.

This also showcases the 3 'levels' of IPTV credits:
- No-touch: Absolute newb: You give the seller your MAC ID, and/or they give you username/password
- Low-Touch: You've given this 'reseler panel', and you set up your own accounts. You can also set up accounts for others, but you'd have to manage them going forward. i.e. my buddy 'BigD' is someone I'd have to re-up myself
- High-Touch: Super Panel? (I've never had one, so dunno.). This panel you can set up reseller panels. In this case, my dealer hooked me up with this panel.

Weird caveat: I cannot change my username, nor even my password on this reseller panel...
Weird caveat #2: I'm unclear how I would get credits from another dealer onto this reseller panel if I were to switch; I suppose I'd get another reseller panel...?

hey guys, i just got IPTV box (buzztv) and my buddy hooked me up with a subscription (jiotv.be). the sub is mac address based.

the subscription I have has Canadian channels (great) but a lot of the VOD are Indian dubs.

- any other IPTV subs other there where is less Indian content?
- is it common that VOD doesn't have caption available?
- how does apollo work if you can have multiple devices? do you enter in multiple mac addresses?

Thanks

Been awhile since I've been on csi and I see a post I made in 2018 is at the top lol.
For what it's worth, I never ended up getting iptv.

Based on some pricing from my contact, Jio can be had for $5-$6.25 / month (depending on qty of credits) ...

I'm on OK2, and I'm about to purchase a chunk of 'IPGuys / COD123' credits to try them out ...

re: captions, depends on your setup. On my box, I used to be able to click a setting and it'd go out to a subs site to download ... (no longer work, and fucking box no longer supported)

On software IPTV apps, similar solve. re: captions.

I'm personally using OK2. It works. Streams are 720p. Like I said above, I'm gonna try IPGUYS next.

Every once in awhile it won't load, and I'd have to either disconnect/connect, or use VPN; I think it's Cogeco blocking the stream

Getting 'reviews' about IPTV servers is near-impossible ...

i use an asian store at the woodbine/hwy 7 plaza. dude's fairly priced and his streaming service has been soooooooolid for years now.

he does a good yearly plan (for more mainstream tv/north american stuff), but also has a 'lifetime' plan with box/remote included...that's more for asian movies/etc streamin and has "just ok" north american stuff.

Whats the min timeline for a subscription? Been wanting to get my parents to try it out, I have a new android box setup but no active subscription. They pay over $100 with rogers for channels they don't use. If they like it they may continue on.

24 hrs. Some charge a few bucks, others 'free'.

Next level up is usually ... 3 mths? 6 mths? Some guys talk in 'time' (i.e. months), others talk in 'credits'. 1 credit = 1 month.

The less credits you get, the higher the cost. I typically see $15/mth advertised. These guys buy the credits in bulk, and prices drop significantly. (Some are as little as ~$6-7 mth at cost)

Finding a reputable 'reseller' is just wild wild west. (You read this thread from first post to the last, and you'll find out I just randomly found a dude off Kijiji, and he's turned out reliable. He also has my full name and a log of interac transactions... so there's that.)

When you transition from cable to IPTV, just be aware of the level of service/expectations .... yes your wallet will thank you, but you risk shit like:
- channel selection
- quality
- availability (IPTV service provider downtime)
- availability (your ISP blocking your ass; time for VPN)
- availability (possible buffering, pixelation, etc.)
- shady reseller
- confusion on wtf things mean .. m3u vs MAC ... etc. (Still don't understand alot of it, so I stick to what I know.)

I mean, it is pirate services afterall....

etc

Pro tip:

I really like this iOS/Android app: MyTVOnline+ ... Sucks that I can't install it on Google Chromecast though...

Works well, made by the same guys that own DreamLink/Formuler IPTV boxes.

Our home IPTV usage is primarily CP24 ... followed by CNN.

Anything else we either watch movies on the box, shows on the box, or Netflix/Disney/Prime/Crave subs.
