Is it just me or is there something in front of the intercooler? Me thinks with that amount of money (and I assume boost and HP) they'd put the intercooler out in front.

Funny how much the Import fanboys cry over it not having an RBwhatever under the hood...
Example I posted it on one of the local websites and the whiners came out in force....

While I think the swap is cool, it doesn't make alot of sense to me.

Normally cars that get engine swaps, have engines that either dont have much potential or are unreliable. Of which this would fall under neither.

So yea the swap is definitely hawt, but I personally would spend my on beefing up the RB not ditching it.

Maybe the original RB was broken.

RB's aren't that hard to get ahold of in OZ. Probably a lot cheaper than an lsx

I'd take a stock LS1/2/6/7 over either a stock or beefed up twin-turbo RB anyday of the week...

You realize how many LSx powered cars Holden has built over the years, right?

Aren't the good RB's (RB26TT or whatever) way more money than a standard RB2XT?

Its like anything the gtr motors are gonna be more expensive than gtst motors and so on. But RB's have been around in OZ as long as they have in Japan. Sourcing a motor for cheap (relatively) would not be an issue.

I know holden used lsx motors but they would still be harder to get than an RB imo.

The point is moot though as the car was made to be different. Money wasn't an issue obviously. It just lept out at me when reading that other boards replies that people are thinking in terms of the states not Australia.

i believe that the RB26tt only comes in the z-tune, and it is only a stroked RB25tt that NISMO designed and built

I hate to be the one to inform you but facts and reality contradict your belief. The Z-tune (as well as the 400R) have RB26DETT's that have been stroked to 2.8L. The regular run-of-the-mill Skyline GTR has an 2.6L RB26DETT and no RB25DETT was ever made.

The RB30 (a single cam engine with a taller block than the RB20/25/26) was sold in Australia powering many Holden cars of the 80s. All R33 and R34's in Australia are grey market imports -- Oz only saw a handful of R32 GTR's brought over by Nissan. It wouldn't be a stretch to say there are more 3rd generation SBC's in the land of Vegemite and kangaroos than RB26's.

Aren't they able to make brazillions of horsepower from the RB26? I can understand being different, but this one just seems like a bastardized car, just for the sake of doing it.

I think that is more mythical. It's a stout engine, but the internet myths of 1000 hp skylines on every corner in Japan was a bit stretched IMO.
