FYI.....

Telus and Koodo is 10gb PERMANENT whereas bell/rogers/fido/virgin is 5+5 for 2 years and then back to 5 gb.

I can't get through telus yesterday, it was crazy as there was 160+ on hold.

My work plan is $45 for 5gb. I'd never use 10gb anyways.

Sick plan. Roam like home would do it for me. Too lazy to be on hold all day though.

Bell has call back and online chat.

My chat agent rushed me through the order (appreciated it).

Bell is permanent 10gig but like Hatorade said, price isn't as its no contract.

confirmed yes.

called this AM, 1hr and 5min hold (yes work headset ftw lol). split our old shared everything plan and cancelled, added each of our phones separately (same acct# still) as $60/month with 5+5gig, no bonus drop-off after 2nd yr. \(\.\)\(\.\)

but, if wanna upgrade phones in future (fine with shit i have now) then if you want the phone cheap you have to get new plan. will prob just do that xmas time of 2018 or 2018 lol.

PSA - read the fine prints if you do go over the 10GB. The new overage fees are $70 bucks per GB or $7.00 per 100MB.

Kinda hard to go over that big of a data plan IMO.

Been calling '611' on Fido for the past 10 mins... Just got through, and supposedly the queue is 3-5 mins. Let's see what happens.

Looking at the $60/10GB plan vs what I have... Not sure if I'll be losing: conference calling, and call waiting... Though I'll be gaining a bunch of shit...

"Save $25 Transaction Fee when you buy online±" ... Let's see if I can sweet-talk their asses that I couldn't do it online.

DONE.... relatively painless, ~60 min online wait + 10 mins war-dialing.

The only thing apparently that I lose is US calling from $0.40/min now to $0.55/min..

You're given the option of waiting until your cycle ends, or pro-rating.

The $25 transaction fee is only if you do a HUP.

Plan is good. But I'm not sure why ppl are waiting so long lol.

Called Telus Saturday around 11:30am and had a Rep within 5 mins. Received the sim cards today. Was at the mall yesterday and saw all the losers waiting in line. You would think they were giving away free shit at every wireless store.

No idea why people would have stayed on the phone all day for that $60/10GB. Walked into a Rogers store and got it done in 15 minutes.

I agree it's not the best of deals. It's good, but I think the 40$ 4GB or 50$ 6GB would have been better for me, but you had to convert a pre-paid plan to get those ones which I could not. 10GB is a lot of streaming on the go and the only times I've gone over 6GB is when my old router's signal wasn't strong enough to reach every corner of my house.

True the 40/50 plans were intended for migrating pay as you go but numerous ppl have successfully switched to that on a post paid account including myself. You need to talk to retentions to get it done. That said I said adios to Rogers after 18yrs and moved over to Telus for the 60 10gb. No incentive to stay with Rogers and I'd rather be on a better network.

$45/5GB unlimited everything else, including north american calling, no roaming, etc.

If i go over the 5 gigs, it's a flat $10 charge and it becomes unlimited, so $45/5 gigs or $55/unlimited

It's pretty hard to go over the 5 gigs

That's a solid plan. The reality is that most are paying around $100/mth lol

That's why this was a hot deal. Wasn't hot for me, but I needed the unlimited talking for my future needs (sex line and all)

This is just a the tip of the iceburg in cheaper plans. There will be cheaper plans coming up. Canada is one of the most expensive place to hold a cell phone plan.

I have a phone plan for HK and China (two phones, two plans) pretty much unlimited, and it's still cheaper than my monthly Rogers bill.

Rogers i'm at $53 tax in for 5gig, unlimited everything.

I'm not sure how we can be compared to cities where infrastructure is much easier to implement due to how dense and small they are...

why do you think they expand the market to more carriers, then after a few years, they get absorbed into the big 3?..

reality check, our market can't sustain that many competitors, and the amount of square footage to population is not dense enough for new people to even justify building up a new set of towers. Its just not a good return on investment, or you'd see more international companies buy into our market.

It's been a few days, and it still shows my old plan online...

I tried calling but fuck this ... waiting would be well over an hour just to 'confirm' the fuckery ... I was supposed to be pro-rated onto the new plan ASAP, but it doesn't look like it....

Gonna wait until my monthly reset mid-month in Jan to see wtf is going on...

Fido's royally fucked up my plan ...

a) Seems the CSR that did my original request to bump me up to 10GB fucked it up, and instead of pro-rating it and having it 'instantly' on that day, I'm getting it on my cycle date ...
b) I'm 'over' my (original) limit of 6GB ... so they're charging me massive overage fees -- I'm $50 over so far, and counting. Supposedly I have to call on the day of my cycle start to get those fees reimbursed
c) I was at 6GB, it then showed 12GB, now I'm at 22GB availability... \:\|
