Do car rides work at all? My larva is instantly out as soon as he gets into the bucket.

Jealous. Mine will NOT sleep in the car. 4 year old has only slept in the car twice that I can think of... 2 year old is a bit better... 5 or so times. And we drive, a lot. Family is 45min away minimum.

Just wait till your kids are teenagers and then you will really understand the hell you've put your parents through as a teenager. "OMFG, WHY DID I DO THIS TO MY PARENTS?!"

Anticipating this... things like skipping class, experimenting with drugs and gambling, stealing my car... I know it's one of those 'grass is greener' type of situations but, hopefully by then, I'll at least be sleeping through the night.

That's when I'll be glad that I'm dealing with teenage boy problems instead of teenage girl problems. \:D

Precisely. I'm all for double standards if I had a teenage girl. Beyond worrying about boys, the whole internet bullying stuff that you hear about with girls is troubling as well.

My wife and I joke that we'll pay them back when they have kids. We'll spoil their kids rotten with toys and candy and then send them home when we're tired.

We've been walking mostly so not much car experience, but the 2 short car rides we did (about 3 mins of driving) she was out cold. As long she is in motion she seems to be calm, carrying her by hand in bassinet/carseat, stroller, car, etc.

Go find a babies r us or a snuggle bugz and throw your kid into one of these to try out.

I saw these being demonstrated at the baby show... seemed to calm the kids well.

Didnt work for my first, will try for my 2nd.

The easiest way to calm my first was to put him in the bucket car seat and swing it back and fourth like a swing.

I've given up on all gadgets/methods.

What works one minute doesn't work the next, vice versa, have to keep alternating and trying new shit. This week has been brutal, everything is random, feedings are more frequent and less volume, sleeps less, basically can't put her down for more than 5 minutes or

Hahaha yup. Only thing that works is trial & error.....CONSTANTLY!

When you start to have things down to 2nd nature it'll get easier. Lol

And it's always the little things. 1st one NEEDED a night light, 2nd one NEEDS it pitch black. Whatever works & it's always changing.

Lol reminds me when my daughter was 5 months old or so and we didn't change the routine but she started to cry nonstop for a couple nights, till my wife figured out that she wanted a certain blanket which is now her blanky and needs it to sleep every night now lol.

Then there was this time when she would sleep in complete darkness till she was 2.5 yrs old and then she became afraid of the dark lol

Lol. Reminds me of my niece. My sister uses to turn on the hair dryer in the bathroom. For a time, we stuck our first son in his bassinet and let him sleep in the washroom with the fan on. We eventually settled on using an air cleaner for white noise. The things parents do...

loool similar actions here. and with our new lil guy 8wks, we've been using our cell as well at night on hair dryer or fan noise in the bed while he's in the bassinet lol. works for the most part. but wifey just ordered this nice small white noise machine off amazon.ca to start using...

https://www.amazon.ca/Marpac-4005200-Por...rds=white+noise

hopefully it works better and we can stop using teh phones.
