Congrats Risky!

I was surprisingly very good at swaddling, better than my wife anyway. And then it turns out both kids HATED being swaddled and would just fight their way out of it. Now they just fight each other 24/7. I blame the swaddle, lol.

One day my wife came home with these new swaddle blankets. We argued because I thought she paid way too much for them (I think it was $50 or $60 for a pack of 3). Needless to say they were great and we used them for all my kids. They are super big and thin which is great for swaddling them.

when my daughter was born my cousin got her these:

aparantly they are baller and were only made from this small company in new york, then someone snapped a pic of prince george swaddled in it and the company blew up. my daughter still sleeps with them up until now.

now you can find them at winners. you couldn't 7 years ago. they were great in the summertime when you wanted to swaddle baby but didn't want them burning up.

Lol. The highlight the first week my first son was born was going to Walmart to buy diapers. I made sure I took my time and looked at stuff in a few departments.

It doesn't seem like it, but it will get better...eventually.

Thankfully so far she is super chill and doesn't cry unless hungry/needs diaper change. As long as those two are good she will pass out for 2-3 hours.

The tough part is managing everything since my wife isn't able to do much, can barely walk so it's kind of like taking care of two babies at the same time

Just did a walmart run, definitely took the looooooooooooooooooooooooong way there and back ;\)

Enjoy it. Besides sleep everything else is great! I remember how excited I was to see poo when my oldest one didn't poo for a week. I thought something was wrong, but it's very common if child is breastfed

14 hours of just me and the radio, that hasn't happened in 5 plus years lol It was great.

We got a sleep doula come in for a consultation. She gave us tips on swaddling, sound machines and most importantly keeping the kids on the same schedule..feeding, sleeping, bath..everything. You never want one sleeping while the other is wide awake or you would never get a break.

Thought I had better swaddling pics but Denis put me to shame with his

Fuck, this waiting game for the kid is driving me nuts... Every time I'm out and see a baby, I can't help but to yell out "BABYYYYY!!!!" People are starting to look at me funny.....

Anyway, so is there a particular video on youtube you peeps are basing your swaddle technique on?

I remember the first few weeks, my wife and I were thinking, "shit, this isn't so bad...why does everyone say it's hard?". Then all hell broke loose and the kid was no longer just sleeping and feeding.

Thanks guys, they are heaven and hell at the same time. Fill me with joy but we have some vids on my wife's phone where they are in their high chairs trying to feed and both are screaming their lungs out. This happened so often we took the vid to see if it was actually normal or if something was wrong with them

They eventually grow out of all the issues and become somewhat normal people. \:D

Jeebus after hearing all you guys i have a new appreciation for my kid. i had no problems with her. the only one i can think of was that the powdered formula (her mom couldn't boobie feed) constipated her so i just had to get the ready to feed formula.

granted i was already awake until 3am because of my shift but she was sleeping throughout the night by like the 3rd day. i would give her a light dinner, then give her a full bottle of milk and she'd get the itis and knock out from about 1 or 2 am until 10am, it was sweet. then i'd wake up with her, give her a bath and out the door we would go together to the grandparents.

my nephew on the other hand, holy hell. kid never slept, and would barf if you looked at him funny. my poor sister in law was forever doing laundry; it was so bad that my mom stayed at my brother's place for like 4 months.

question for the parents, anyone have a vasectomy? lol thinking about getting one and i heard in the states they can do it with lasers so there's no incision.
