Went for a ride in a Model S 70 last week. Pretty cool! It's very quick off the line. And that's an older model with no Ludicrous mode.

rich man's toy. You will need this and a road trip car on the side. I love how the photo of the tesla shows a bike on top. Pls try taking that to a bike race. They are in the middle of nowhere...their performance pack battery is insufficient in most cases.
Not practical outside of the daily commute for the most part. most definitely not a true car replacement until the infrastructure is up to charge these things wicked fast with easy access to chargers everywhere.
Also, speed is not as fun without the sound produced by a piston engine. blehhhhh. Would rather happily spend tons on gasoline for more enjoyment.

it is a sweet car would love to try it and seriously consider one. a bit pricey for my blood right now though.
they have quite the warranty issues though too - just FYI I think you hit the "submit" button before you finished typing your post. You forgot to talk about how the Honda/Acura is a much better choice
heh.

The range on the smallest battery of the Model S is 400km. Tell us more. hello non cyclist, i have races that are 200+km away--some as far as calabogie which you are familiar with Assuming a race is "only" 200km away, that's 400km round trip without the logistics of stopping for food or other random things...or dealing with detours in the case of unanticipated construction. So there you have it, it is insufficient mileage. I put on over 30k km a year and my car is used mostly for cycling XD (0 mileage is used to commute - i have no commute).
P100D has 500+km range. Just don't use the Ludicrous. Looks liek you can make it to your bike race out in the woods.

Nice car to drive but the interior is so cheap compared to its competitors. The seat in the Model X at Yorkdale rocks... how annoying would that be. Overall, a stupid fast, non-luxurious car.
The most common problems involve replacement of the electric motors, warped brake rotors, door handles that fail to slide out as a driver approaches, and numerous squeaks and rattles, which may be more apparent given the very quiet nature of electric propulsion.
ALSO SEE: Consumer Reports: Tesla Model S 'Best Overall' Again In 2015 (Feb 2015)
Other problem areas cited by Tesla owners are leaking cooling pumps for the battery pack, dead windshield wipers, persistent alignment issues with the wheels, and misaligned latches for the front trunklid and the rear liftgate.

I'm looking forward to visiting the factory. My wife's cousin just got a job as an engineer there.
outside of designated tours...you won't be allowed inside. So don't get your hopes up.
